The PS2, good for the hardcore - Jul 20, 2005 11:28
Something that greatly annoys me is seeing many people habitating forums (not Kikizo) saying that the PS2 is a console for the casual gamer, when it clearly is just as suited to the hardcore gamer.

The PS2 is home to the RPG, a genre that is clearly not aimed at the casuals. It also features its fair share of oddball games that the average gamer will never and even attempt to understand.

Your thoughts?

I' m very casual and I thought that Game Cube was more " hardcore" than PS2. They never got any of the good sports games nor any of the best sellers like GTA and Halo.

Personally I think it' s dumb to refer to yourself as " hardcore" just because you own a PS2. Maybe back in the 7th grade it was cool, but damn, that was the 90' s....

The PS2, good for the hardcore

Quite frankly I think the PS2 is good for all cores. Softcores, middlecores and hardcores as well as casuals. The PS2 library covers a very broad range of titles.

Stuff like Gradius IV and V, R-Type Final, the classics remakes, etc. etc.

I agree with Terry. How can a system have THOUSANDS of games and not have something for everyone? At this point I think they ALL have the bases covered.

I' m more of a " middle-core" myself.

Yeah, That' s exactly what I meant, but you put it better than I did

Please do not misunderstand me, I never did say that the PS2 was anymore hardcore than any other console. Apoligies if I didn' t make it more clear.
