Dreamcast died because of " SONY HYPE" ...if DC was alive maybe we could

now they live on 360! with 360' s DC-like controller!

I think the original " Duke" controller was. I don' t think the later " Controller S" was. But I don' t care what anyone says, " Duke" > " Controller S" .

Some maniac actually wired one of those babies to work with his 360, & I' m not just saying he chunxed a couple controllers up & went to town, he actually made an entirely new mobo for the (wireless I might add) controller & enclosed it in a box so it' d be compatible with his XBLA games.

So i got my hand on the game yesterday and i' m happy to report that not only is it gorgeous - nicer than VF5 - but that the new characters (Bob especially) are fuc.king kickass!

There was almost no aliasing, the textures are very sharp and the stages are the best out of any Tekken game i' ve played. Tekken 6 and Soul Calibur 4 are going to own!

Tekken has always been turd next to Virtua Fighter so I am just glad that the visuals reflect this in about proportional measure now.

Even with VF5 going multi-platform, ...it' s still going to get raped sales-wise by both of Namco' s fighters.

Is Tekken as balanced as Virtua Fighter? No. Does it have as much depth? No.

It does have better art direction and characters though, and the Tekken games are far superior to the Dead or Alive games. I didn' t like Tekken Tag Tournament and i didn' t like Tekken 4, but 2, 3, 5 and especially Dark Resurrection have been fantastic.

And this thread is months old. I brought it back because i got to play Takken 6 yesterday and wanted to say that the game looks much nicer than the screens i posted in June on the first page. EDIT: See, title changed for the less observant.

VF may play better than Tekken but Sega really needs to learn to add more console friendly features in their VF ports.

There' s so much more shit to do and unlock in games like Tekken/Soul Calibur than in VF , they are properly designed console ports and probably why they' ll always sell better.

I think the difference is that people correctly percieve Namco' s fighters as being easier to get into.

The VF games are more " hardcore" (although Tekken has an equally massive hardcore fanbase) and aren' t as easy to play.

In comparison, i think both the Virtua Fighter and Dead or Alive games are weak in terms of art direction. Both or Namco' s games have cooler characters and stages.

Tekken isn' t as balanced as Virtua Fighter though, and the trade off is a larger character roster. But Tekken also has flashier moves and like you say, more content... all of which no doubt goes some way to explaining why Tekken has always sold better.

Online will make this game. How does it play Nitro? is it just dark R with great graphics or does have new features?

Seriously, Tekken doesnt need any more new fighters.

Multi-tiered stages like in the DoA games was something i thought was cool. I don' t think every stage has them, but the ones that do are cool. The other most notable things are the ' rage' system (which kicks in automatically when your health goes into the red and gives your attacks more potency) and extended health bar.

I didn' t have time to check out character customization or any of the usable items, but i didn get to check out most of the 40-ish??? characters and i really like the new additions, especially Bob. Zafina, Miguel and Bob all have some cool moves and combo possibilities, but although Leo (who looks like a girl but isn' t) is easy to use... i didn' t like playing as him.

I think i read somewhere about all of the animations being re-done from scratch, but i can' t say i noticed a huge difference. It' s fast and fluid, just as Tekken has always been.
