A simple question; which do you prefer?
I was having a conversation with my friend the other day about which was better
Final Fantasy or Shenmue, I pointed out that I hate the turn based aspect of
Final Fantasy, and it is a game that I can only watch and would not be caught
dead playing it (incedently I' d only be caught alive and with a full bill of health
playing Skies of Arcadia). I did state that the stories in Final Fantasy are at the
core just love stories with magic and are very good at eluding from this. It was
at that point he turned and said Shenmue is a standard revenge story....??...??


This got me pissed!! At the core, yes it may be but overall if the saga is finished,
its shaping up to be a brilliant story. So I leant him the game to play and take
it for a test drive, he came back and said that it was sh!T AND NO kINGDOM
HEARTS BEATER!Grrrrrr.. He said that it was slow and too difficult to progress,
in my opinion, it' s only difficult to progress if:

A: You' re a starborn idiot and are hopeless at following clues.

B: If you' re a village idiot and don' t know where the arcade is.

So in light of this conversation, I would like your feedback on which is better
overall.

I' d say it' s a useless comparison - both games are so different , and there are a lot of FF games while shenmue ones...are so fuckin rare :(

Anyway, to answer your question - SHENMUE , because great FF game can be the best game you' ve ever played , while shenmue can be the best adventure you' ve ever had.It goes beyond TV.

Well if he can call Shenmue that then I could call FF
that also but neither are true.
I would say Shenmue isn' t his type of game but
it is most likely being hard headed and stubborn.

I mean I like FF but I like Shenmue more for good reasons.
This is one of those games you shouldn' t try to force on people.
They need to know exactly what it is first.

Well I find FF harder when you forget what you are supposed to be doing.
And you get notes in Shenmue and Ryo asks people about the info.

I like Skies over FF but Skies is just one game.

Shenmue wins. Final Fantasy sucks so much that it doesn' t even let you race forklifts!

Incredibly easy choice: Shenmue not just by a country mile, but an entire continent!!! Shenmue by 3 continents!!!

If Final Fantasy got rid of its turn-based battle system then I might have had to think about it a little before................. picking Shenmue again

Most people I know who have played both agree shenmue is better. Back in the day me and a friend played the demo for FFVII and both hated the fact that it was turn based. Some of my other friends loved it.

Shenmue without a doubt, It' s more of an experience... Like something I have lived through, rather than merely played.

But which was better; Zool or Thomas the Tank Engine?!

Turtles or Tellytubbies?!

For most original and intriguing (more realistic) storyline I' ll go for shenmue.

By the way magix I won' t spoil it.....but I heard that thomas gets derailed and dies from heat exhaustion. And the turtles find out that the hulk is their father *brrrr..hulk and a turtle*..

I said that shenmue walks all over final fantasy , but I totally disagree with all you bastards talking bad about ff games ,especially VI - VIII.

FF IX was mediocre I agree, FF X was the ultimate crap, but 6,7,8 were totally awesome.

Gamespot gaved shenmue 6.8 hwoever after all angry fanboys letters,and seeing what other sites gaved it(They gaved it in avg 9.0) and the readers 9.1 they changed the score into 7.8,becuase the yfeelt like they wanted to be the voice of the gamers...

GS and greg has said that will never happaned again and they apologies for it.

But there ryou have it,GS think shenmue serie is more then crap.

Shenmue wins. Both Gamespot and Gamestop suck ass. Neither has a right to exist because both are less than dirt.
