So this is a follow up, which sequel do you think mostly shames its original nearly perfect game?

Say did you just love Quake, but hate Quake 2? you get the drill! Now move it!

Loved Halo but hated Halo 2. Halo 2 was absolute garbage. While I think the sequal was warranted it would have been nice if Bungie wouldn' t have gone crazy and changed everything that made the first game good for the sequal. Don' t fix it if it isn' t broken.

That' s easy :)

Perfect Dark Zero is crap and Perfect Dark N64 was 10/10 AAA /BADASS/

SoulCalibur 2 was crap next to DC SoulCalibur

Final Fantasy games after FF8 are worthless fuckin crap.

I agree with Quake thing.

I did enjoy Halo 2 a lot , but it' s way worse than Halo:CE

Warcraft 3 was worse than W2

It' s like some unwritten rule - 90% of sequels are worse

Also liked Warcraft 3 more than Wacraft 2

and halo 2 more than halo: CE

Bleh, WarCraft 2 owned WarCraft 3. Much better story and I enjoyed the gameplay more.

Halo 2 just sucked.

I dont see why Halo 2 sucked.

the fact that it didnt feature the Library from Halo:Ce alone makes it a better game. worthless repetative gameplay!

Halo 2' s faults- Horrible story, having to play as the Arbitor (you think people would have learned from MGS2), horrible level degin, the game' s pacing was aboslutely horrible, the cutscenes were garbage, the huge amount of weapons served little purpose, they changed the feel of the game so much it didn' t ressemble the first game, the Elite' s went from badass beast to actors from a Shakespear play (infact alll the enemies behaved differently and not in a good way), inconsistant graphics (bamp maps loading at odd times), vehicles were less fun this time, only having three Earth levels when the game was supposed to be about saving Earth (those three levels were the best in the game), only one city on Earth was attacked, one of the worst endings ever (the game leaves off where the whole thing was supposed to have taken place),... I could go on and on but I' ll end it there.

this thread is about the most disapointing sequels, not sequels that should not have been made, cus most of us love sequels anyway ...

my first disapointment will be

Devil May Cry 2 !! crap crap crap^, only Dante in this very sequel that was the best of all.

Halo 2, i didn' t like the other character and graphics were very disapointing to me, in many places it looked much like halo 1

Jax and dexter 3 , the first and second were better

Suikoden 4, i Hate that lady working for konami my god she is soo stupid, she really messed up suikoden (she' s the one who made Shodow of memories, what a crap )

Silent hill 4, a big disapointement for silent hill fans.

that' s it for now ..

Shin Shinobi Den (Shinobi Legions): Uninspired gameplay.

PLANET HARRIERS: GeeZus f' n krist.. The one game that almost made me HATE Amusement Vision. They SORT OF redeemed themselves with F-Zero GX.

Hang-On GP 1995: *sigh*, So much potential marred by bad controls.

After Burner III: It' s only saving grace are some of the tunes.

Altered Beast for the GBA and the PS2: These games prove that Sega has a hateful side to them..

The 32-bit (PlayStation & Saturn) CONTRA games. NUFF SAID.

Sonic heroes if i can count it as a sonic sequel.

Shinobi X - Digitised [:' (] gross.... Nothing on MD shinobi' s

Burnout 3 and 4 - 1 was great, loved 2 hate it since.

Midnight club 3 - enjoyed 2, not 3 at all, might be nostalgia though.

Nightshade - the original PS2 shinobi was much better imo.

Street Fighter Alpha 3 - alpha 2 is my favourite SF to date.

Virtual-On Marz - OT on the dreamcast and the original on saturn were fantastic games.

FFX-2 - I for one really enjoyed FFX, but X-2 was horrible

Headhunter: redemption - Original was really nice, i liked it on my dc.

Probably loads more... Plus agree with most written previously

....halo 2 was disappointing..... ....but to say it sucked is exaggerating....

having to play as the Arbitor
the Elite' s went from badass beast to actors from a Shakespear play

...i didn' t mind playing as the Arbitor (apart from the fact that his armour was the single crappest piece of design in the whole game)....

....and the Elites RULE in Halo 2!!... ...the ' noble warrior' development of them was probably the best new innovation for me..... ...that' s probably why i preferred the Arbitor levels, ' cause you could hook up with real warriors and take on the flood!.... ....i spent most of the MC levels having to baby-sit the pansy marines...

...the flood becoming intelligent, driving warthogs and ghosts and that giant talking snot/bogie thing, was utterly stupid tho.....

Pac-Man World 3. For 2 reasons: 1. That terrible voice. 2.That terrible mood swing (Think Prince of Persia: Warrior Within). Pac-Man should happily prance through lavishly colored forests eating equally lavish glowing fruits, or something. Not sprinting through some sort of post-apocalyptic nightmare scrap heap.

And while I' m on the subject of post-apoc suckage, Fallout:Brotherhood of Steel. Weak ripage of the Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance engine + bad RPG to action shooter translation - character creation engine = SUCK!!
