Is it because the PC version has a higher resolution or something?

i believe that both gc/ps2 versions were more atmospheric (hope this is the right word:P:P)

Though im looking on a really crappy work monitor, it looks really horrible... certainly lacking atmosphere

Now what will those PC gamers say? The " superior" PC' s can' t handle the superb Resident Evil 4, one of the most atmospheric games ever created. On PC it looks... boring.
But the weakest consoles, the GCN and the PS2, could make it look amazing.

Yea, certainly looked much cooler on PS2! The lighting + textures just havent seemed to have held up in the translation. I' m sure M+K would just feel wrong too...

Haven' t played it, but I' d imagine DMC3-PC would have had the same problems. And I played a demo of Onimusha 3 on PC...same story unfortunately.

This seemed to have happened with Resident Evil 2 on the PC as well. I think a large part is attributable to the fact that the PC displays such high resolutions and needs a game to be tweaked specifically for it to make it have that ambience and feel that so many people love. Of course this is only true for the older console games, now that the next-gen consoles deliver resolutions equal to, or higher than that of PC' s we shouldnt have that problem.

...who in their right mind plays console games on PC' s anyway? ...

People who are too stupid to buy consoles but still want to try the awesome games.

....i would recommend playing a great console game on a console, if seeing the game at it' s best is important to you...

...and it' s not like a PS2 or GC is gonna require you to re-mortgage your home in order to purchase one...

I was going to ask then if this is how the ps2 version would look through the ps3, or worse perhaps, but then i remembered ps2 games aren' t upscaled..... By the way, what happened to evil man? Just dawned on me i aint seen him in like, forever...

That what happens when you put a console game and try to get it to the pc. Good game gone bad. It looks sad.

Probably because on the PS2 version they baked most of the lighting into the textures. This is where they pre-render the lighting with textures and make them into one texture that has a shadow on it. They do this on old hardware because it would run too slow using lightmaps and real time lighting.

it seems like i was right guys , it' s because there are no lighting effects , in fact may be there is no effect at all, as who ever wrtoe the article on wikepdia says that teh company that was responsible for the port used DIRECTX 7!!!

Apparantly the game has been taken off the Ubisoft UK site and has been off now for over a week so MAYBE they won' t release it as it did get such a poor reception.
Unlikely though...

i just downloaded the game and its unplayable .. I can bear the graphics but the damn thing is so frustating to control .. I should have got this on the ps2 .
