MGS4 has a lot of cinematics, HD video take a lot of space.

Oblivion and Mass Effect may be large games but all the cut scenes are using the ingame engine so they save space by not having video.



I thought the cinematics in MGS4 were also running on the ingame engine.
Like the cinematics in previous games, where you could even zoom in and out and turn the camera a little. At least in Twin Snakes and MGS2.

Oi muppet, did you mean demanding?

If so, i don' t get what you mean by it. It' s not like Blu-Ray has fuck all to do with MGS4 aside from pre-recorded HD cutscenes or multiple audio tracks or whatever they decide to put on there.

The game content (say texture resolution) is limited (especially in comparison with 360) by the rest of the hardware.

Yeah sorry i meant demanding. If MGS4 is gonna have loads of 1080p CUT SCENES wouldn' t that mean larger disk space would be required.

Twin Snakes and MGS 2 utilized ingame sequences and it looks like 4 will too, the only difference is the SixAxis, which is mostly just a gimmick.............. IMO

Maybe, i doubt it will be efficient, the R6, gears of war system works perfectly fo leaning.

Innovation is the most overused buzz word in the whole industry. When somebodys comes up and describes something to me as innovative, I feel the urge to punch him in the face because 9/10 times something " innovative" is either a mix of old ideas or even a complete rip off of an old thing everybody forgot about.

If anyone can make the SixAxis not look like a gimmick it would be Kojima he is bound to come up with something " intuitive" and " innovative" .

You know, looking back I am still wondering if maybe the Boomerang wouldn' t have been the better choice. Now that would' ve allowed for some sick gameplay options. Imagine every friggin PS3 game would have a boomerang as a weapon. Now wouldn' t that be cool?

Exaclty. As Nitro stated, the cut-scenes are pre-recorded HD video which of course will take up a shit load of space. However, for the GAME content itself, is limited.

They only take lots of space if its CGI.

And from what i saw of MGS4 there was nothing I havnt seen before in terms of graphic.

I do hope the game runs in 1080p though,because the graphics need to be better then this what they shownm.

Why are the cut-scenes pre-recorded when they will look like they' re running on the ingame engine?
I bet they did that JUST to be able to say that the game NEEDS Blu-Ray.
