It sounds to me like you may be losing money if you paid for both.

I' m just messing... Wii is the kinda console I have to play for myself to see if
it' s a fad, I can no longer go on the opinions of anyone else, as pretty much
everyone seems to be buying the Wii " because it' s cute" ....

When is the Wii out in the Uk? I' m not pre-ordering it as I' m assuming that
Nintendo' ll cater for everyones needs, so I' m just going to walk into a store
and pick it up. If \i don' t get it on launch, then I' ll just buy the Wii day 2when
compulsive gamers have returned it...

Its Obviously becuase they want to play the lastest Nintendo games which you' ll never experience the class of gameplay Nintendo games mostly offer .. ZElda TP with the Wiimote is a perfect example.

Hmmm. I just can' t wait for it to come out, it will end the argument
that is going on in my head. Half of me is nay he other half is saying yay.

If I don' t like it, I' ll give to 6 year old cousin and she can smash it to pieces, she
loves The WindWaker, but hates the idea Wii... Which I found very odd..

It seems that she' d be more at home with a PS3 controller in her hand as she
turns the pad left and right REGARDLESS of what kind of game she is playing.

I still think the Wii is a bit " complicated" for the average child gamer (that' s
anything below erm... 6?)

Really, i' d say that Wii is more aimed at younger people.. The majority of older
people are fickle...

Using a first-hand experience as an example... WAAAAYYY back when the 360
was released, I saw 6 business women crowded around Kameo (of all games)
faffing about " how pretty her wings are" ...

If we are talking about non-gamers, (who when it comes to games are clearly
stupid).

The majority of them are graphics whores, visually, the first thing that draws them
are the graphics. Hence why when the Wii was right next to Gears of War in my
local Virgin, there was a crazy crowd around Gears amidst mumbles of (It looks like a movie this, and wow it looks almost like real life that..) These are comments coming from guys in suits. The Wii wasn' t being played, and neither was Gears because it' s too gory to put up apparently.

I still think Nintendo' s target audience is the 6-13 range (minus their own system
selling games like Brawl, Zelda, Metroid etc..)

Yeah, I think so. Females are also one of the primary audiences they' re trying to catch. If they succeed, they' ll make gaming truly mainstream, which could, at the very least, be a good thing for peoples perceptions with gaming.

I really don' t agree with Tiz saying that non-gamers are graphic whores. From my experiences, graphics is what they are least interested in. They find the graphics fascinating but it doesn' t make people interested in actually playing a game.
Videogames look kinda boring when all you do is press small buttons on a pile of plastic in order to move a character on the screen. It doesn' t matte rhow good it looks if it looks boring.
The Wii-mote however looks more fun. It might be a gimmick, it might look stupid, but it sure looks more fun and I think non-gamers would definitely prefer the Wii before 360 or PS3.

Found out about five minutes after I posted this that I wouldn' t be getting one. Talk about dissapointage, so methinks I' m going to change the thread name from " Wii is here" to " New console Pics" , just because I' m whiny.

Dude you' re in a fucking tee shirt (at this time of year). People on my side of the world were wearing winter jackets and still froze their asses off waiting in line for the PS3.
