If they relesed a 399.99 PS3 it would kill Sony not MS. Microsoft said they would make another after 360 regardless of the outcome this/next gen and they have to pockets to do so, Sony on the other hand would be severely fucked if they lose money with PS3.

Personally though I would have liked to see it so low, I might even consider buying one.

Actually, I suspect by next year most of you will realize you' re retarded and make ammends by going with PS3, so maybe that won' t be necessary.

Most of us are getting a PS3 anyways, some of us prefer 360 or Wii. I don' t know why that bothers you so much.

I can hardly be called a fanboy for the 360... there aren' t really any games coming out for it this year that I' m excited about.

In truth, I hope all the consoles end up with roughly equal market share. That will be better for all gamers in the long run as it will force the manufacturers and developers to always put their best effort into what they release since no single manufacturer will have any laurels to rest on.

Edit: Actually, thinking about it further, I think it would be ideal if the Wii was the market leader, as that would create additional pressure for price drops for the 360 and PS3.

To reiterate, I was saying that it would be ideal for the lowest-priced console, which happens to be the Wii, to be the market leader simply because it would create pressure for the other manufacturers to lower their prices sooner. Obviously I was not actually predicting that the Wii will be the top-seller.

This is a gaming forum and I am free to post any facts regarding the topic, the PS3 will dominate X360, I will be sure to report the news as it happens, just so everyone is informed.

Furthermore, I am not a blind rabid brainwashed fanboy like most of you are - I actually own an X360. Because I form my own opinions on facts that I have actually experienced, I have an X360 and it' s garbage - I proved this fact to myself by owning one. Actually, the traffic ticket industry is huge, and most states generate millions in revenue from it. Someone has to pay the government so they can take care of and educate fucking illegal mexicans for free in our schools, hospitals, etc.

I have no doubt the zune will fail, Xbox wont fail, but it wont come out on top, it will be a closer run this time around, but the PS3 will go for surpremacy after a few years! PS3 has seen a pre-release pricecut in Japan, it' s pssible that will follow through to other territories. If it does Microsoft will be forced to drop 360' s price to keep the difference as they are not yet in a position to take Sony head on. They need an edge and being first to market by 12 months has done them a lot of good, but Sony OWN Japan and their only threat there is Nintendo.

Can you imagine a $399.99 Blu-Ray player/next gen combo?!
