I get nothing, no sound either. The controller connects and its works fine apart from the output. I would like to test the hdmi connection but I dont have that sort of tv yet.

Turn the machine off, including the switch at the back and then turn it back on, holding the power button until you hear 3 beeps. That' ll factory re-set it. If that doesn' t work and connecting via composite doesn' t display a picture either then you' ll probably end up returning it...

I am ringing sony tech support tomorrow, if that dosent work then I guess I have to return it. That means a 2 hour drive back to galway. I just made that trip today. I want to keep my harddrive though.

Turn the machine off, including the switch at the back and then turn it back on, holding the power button until you hear 3 beeps. That' ll factory re-set it. Works great here try this also . If the video output settings do not match those required for the TV in use, the screen may go blank when the resolution is changed. The screen should, however, automatically go back to its original resolution after a while. If the screen remains blank for more than 30 seconds, turn off the system. Then touch the power button on the system front for at least five seconds to turn the system on again. The video output settings will automatically be reset to the standard resolution. When doing this make sure there is no video cables just try pluging it up with the power cable only then try the steps above. look on page 10 under picture in your manual do what it says there Not the quick reference guide but the actual manual. That means a 2 hour drive back to galway. I just made that trip today. I want to keep my harddrive though. Why just move your saved data to an removable jump drive. I do it all the time.

I got to say this is odd, i turned on my ps3 today and I got picture, and nothing is wrong, i played motorstorm and tekken then flow, not a thing, i powered it down and back up again. fine. Its amazing how it wouldnt show a picture last night, I hope this dosent happen often, This reminds me of what somebody here said I tyhink it was Eddie, " computers dont have a reason to stop working, why should they have one to start again?"

You' re damn right that was mine! Where' s the copyright symbol? I demand a quarter, no exceptions. (Either that or one complimentary game of Motorstorm when I get my PS3, whichever suits.) Thats odd, i would still recomend you calling SONY´s tech support. Screw official tech support. Sony, Microsoft, Apple, Nintendo, they' re all the same. They' ve got minimum-wage workers reading off of Q & A sheets from a local call re-routed to Mumbai. I' d much rather figure out what was up myself anyway. I personally don' t want to work for a big company tech-support line. I want to work for the people on the other side of the world that are actually fixing the consoles. These are the people you want to converse with about your console problems, not the idiots over the phone.
