I seriously don' t believe that the visual gap this Gen will be the same as the old one was between the PS2 and the XBox. It' s preety much the same i think, what' s being done in the 360 is feasible on the PS3 and vice-versa

The Xbox 360 will be showing better graphics this next year, its been out longer, and the tools are familiar to the developers, where as the developers have been worried about the tools given along with the devkits for the PS3 (except the biased second hand developers)

Its going to be an interesting gen, to see what Sony can do with Cell combined with the underpowered RSX. And what MS can do with their ATI gpu with the unified memory.

Not only interesting, but also healthy for the Industry. Sony has been on the Top for too much time. Don' t get me wrong i have been a Sony fan since the old Playstation days but no one is really pushing them to Develop great things, remember how awesome most of us thought the PS was when it came out?


It' s not so healthy for the wallet though...

I' m not a dev i have no idea,but upcoming 2nd gen xbox360 games looks better then first gen ps3 games.

360 games are naturally going to look better now, if only because it' s been out longer, and developers have had a chance to work with it. I' ve said it before, I think it' s going to be a few years before the curve really comes around, but when it does, I think the ps3 is going to outstrip the 360 in terms of visuals. I' m not saying PS3 is going to be a sucess, but like the PS2 and PS1, launch titles and AAA fourth year titles are completely different in terms of visuals.

Seriously though, i keep telling people not to listen to biased parties. Microsoft are obviously going to say 360 will have better visuals for the next two years of whatever, it' s just idiot talk.

Yes, the best looking 360 games will look nicer than the best looking PS3 games because 360' s GPU is more advanced than, and can do more than PS3' s. BUT, Microsoft has no quality control (though neither has Sony) and so there will also be a lot of sh!t looking games on both consoles.

The one thing that they won' t go near is things like framerates and physics. Sure 360 games might look nicer, but if a 360 game looks slightly nicer than a PS3 game, but that PS3 game runs at a constant 60fps whereas the 360 game runs at 30+ but not quite 60fps, which game is better?!

This kind of comment from either company should be ignored.
