I think this game could get a nice visual boost if they droped to 720p - anyway, those screenshots are a great reply to everyone who wondered what would be sacrificed for 1080p.

It' s rumoured that it' ll be 1080p, but as you say, doing that would mean some significant sacrifices.



I want to point out that the screen posted on page one was taken from the Official Japanese Playstation site.

These are also available there...





...and i can see a shitload of graphical letdowns in these screenshots too. However, the game has been delayed until next summer anyway so i expect to see a cheeky (not actually running on hardware but still claimed to be) playable demo at TGS that looks much better than what we see here.

PS3 seems to have problems with normal/bump mapping -- all i' m seeing is flat textures of varying resolutions. There have been some expections though, -- Resistance looks awesome for example.

But those two last pics look much better than the first one. Still alot of work to be done, but if Resistance can go from ' meh' to ' nice' this can surely do the same, since its so early in devolpment.

I can' t wait to see impressions of resistance from game sites when it comes out (genuinely).

Oh and, resistance actually went from looking incredible in it' s first trailer (back when it was I-8) but now graphically looks worse than CoD2, and the physics have a " nostalgic" factor to them; It' s nice to see the old-fashioned " manequin" ragdolls back in action.

the ps3 can produce great graphics just look at fight night we just will have to wait and see what happens. Im sure the ps3 can go head to head with the 360. Gears of war as much as i hate that game and that kind of game play it just looks Sexy

It' s nice to know that the one' s that look better don' t really have a HuD.. Either
way they look better, the lack of HuD doen' t really bother me, I know they will
deliver.

what might be worrying about the absence of the hood if that it might not be ingame (and that' s actualy why it looks better) but who knows...

Even without this HUD , those screens are alrght - not mindblowing (like Glock 19 for instance).
