Awesome pics Majik! I love seeing how the insides of consoles look. I' m giving it a couple months before they' ve completely redesigned how it fits.

It' s really really cramped though. I mean I know it doesn' t have an external brick OFC, but even still, they' re really shaving every corner with that thing. Neither the PS1 or the launch PS2s were that packed.

Well its nice for me, becuase I ant never going to see the inside of my ps3 first hand, even if you payed me.

well... unless you paid me a very big sum...

it' s cool to see all the components inside - remember it' s what' s on the inside that counts

In one of the pictures i saw the Hard Drive and i was wondering if it is possible to use a 250GB hard drive(a pc HD) instead of the 20/60GB that comes in the PS3. Anyone hapeens to know if that is possible?

Damnm having read the Resistance Review i want one! :P If its coming to europe in Septemper, i might even be able to save up for one :P

It would have to be a 2.5" sata drive, but yeah, you can remove the 20/60GB HDD and replace it with any size you want. It may have to be NTFS formatted though. External USB drives will obviously work too. We' re going to see (and i' ll be one of them) people with 100' s of gigs of HD movies on HDD' s, playing them back through the PS3.

Actually, they say quite a bit. It says that Sony is having more problems downsizing components than they have in the past, whether that be from price or just plain lack of ways to work around the klunky hardware.
It also tells me that I should expect some kind of serious overheating problem in at least a small percentage of the PS3 launch units. I' ve seen the inside of my 360 many many times, & it looks sparce compared to this.
If you haven' t busted open alot of consoles, it wouldn' t mean much to you, but it speaks volumes to me.

Really? I' m cracking mine open after the 30/90 day limited warrantee breaks. I' m most likely going to be re-painting mine, because the clear black really doesn' t do a thing for me, so it' s only a matter of time before I get some hands on with its innards.

That looks seriously complex, see the size of the Fan? that must take about 25% of the internal space of the ps3 alone! but I suppose, I would pick bigger and quiet than small and noisey.

Whoever took those photos needs a photography lesson. Placing a dollar bill beside the ps3 would give me some idea of the size of this beast. Good post Majik nice to get a look athe damn thing, probably the closest I' m gonna get to one for many, many months.
