GoW has sold 4 million copies, but that means...
-

... 2/3 of the audience with a 360 never got it. Can someone explain how the so called " hardcore" audience that is on the 360,has over 8 million people who never got Gears of war? What kind of hardcore gamer never got GoW? Not even until this day? I find it so ***ing strange and bizzare, what kind of games/reason did they get the 360 for then? It cant be just for halo, right?

The kind that doesn' t like shooters, or beat it on a rental and doesn' t like to play online, or bought it used. PS2 has like a 100 million userbase, why didn' t god of war sell atleast 50 million copies?

Reading GoW in the title actually made me think of God of War at first. These abbreviations are confusing :P

Well while you' re right in that emofag,ps2 has been very cheap for awhile and more for everyone, while 360 is atm expensive and has a certain hardcore audience.

Not really, I know alot of people who are totally clueless about gaming and have an xbox360. For instance my boss has one and he only plays NBA and NFL games on it, he also bought the core xbox360 because he' s an idiot. My friend bought one just for guitar hero and for racing games. I know parents that bought x360' s for their kids but dont let them play games that are too violent. So there is alot of possibilities.

Any game that reaches 1/3 of the console owners is exteremely high, unless is near the launch window. Besides, some people just don' t like the game, it' s not as if it' s UT III.

I know alot of people who didnt buy gears because they didnt have XBL. There is 6 million users on XBL right? so that still means atleast 2 million people who didnt buy it

ORIGINAL: emofag For instance my boss has one and he only plays NBA and NFL games on it, he also bought the core xbox360 because he' s an idiot. If he only wants to play NFL and NBA games, then the core is fine for him. He bought what he needed to play the games he wanted. Personally I didn' t buy it because it just doesn' t look like something I' d enjoy. Online means absolutely nothing to me, and I' m not a big shooter fan. ' Stop and pop' sounds tedious as hell. I' ll get it when the price drops i guess, just to see what all the big fuss is about, but it' s not a priority.

Gears of War has an aesthetic that might have appealed to me when I was a teenage boy, but the whole brooding muscleman in an oh-so-dark-and-gritty apocalypse world is straight played the f*** out. Pull it out the oven, ' cause it' s overdone. The gameplay looks a bit too slow for my tastes, too.

lol agent, I get bored of Ut quick. Yes but this is the 3rd one, no one gets bored of UT III, it gets bored with you. Gears was an ok game, it was still limited by being a third person shooter. It is very short and the online is trash. Gears had what a dozen levels? Not even. UT3 will have about 40 and that number will easilly double with user content and more content from EPIC. UTIII will have cooler weapons, it' ll be be faster, crazier, contain more levels, more game modes, more characters, a richer story, it will have vehicles, better physics etc... In every respect that you can measure a game UT III mops the floor with Gears. It' s no contest. Gears=Appetizer UT III=Main course http://www.unrealtournament3.com/main.php

Stop and Pop interested me at first, as did the ever so pretty graphix, although I also didn' t like typical Epic style steroid character designs. Also, while I did enjoy the Co-Op gameplay of Gears, I dunno if I' ll continue the series, as after awhile I just wanted to get back to some ever so original Run and Gun play, Halo style!

What I love in GoW is playing co-op with a nutcase like Safirus who only want chainsaw kills,me and a friend like to flank a locust with 2 chainsaw drawn hahaha. We own on insane with chainsaws.

The Chainsaw pretty much makes Gears. It' s the sweatest thing, splitting your enemy in 2 piece, the feeling is almost poetic. This made me think. Gears have the chainsaw. Doom has the shotgun. Perfect Dark the Laptop Gun. Half Life 2 has its Gravity Gun. Now WTF does Halo have, that' s a legendarelly awesome weapon? Don' t fuckin' bring me needle gun now! [:' (]

Probably the plasma sword, although it sounds like it' s being reined in quite a bit -- and with good reason -- for the 3rd installment.
