ORIGINAL: alijay034 ORIGINAL: Abasoufiane middle eastern people don' t have mafia in the culture so the character wouldn' t really fit in the world of GTA, a russian (or from eastern europe) though would make much more sense. I beg to differ, try going to Kharkov in the Ukraine, the mafia is absolutely rife out there, as it is in lithuania and most former communist run countries. He said Middle Eastern don' t really have a Mafioso culture, not Eastern European. Hell, Eastern Europe has more than anywhere else in the world. I like the Ukraine. It' s just a shame it borders Poland...[:' (]

my apologies for that, but wasn' t Saddam Hussain the Don of Iraq? I think you still find that Middle Eastern countries would still have a form of Maffioso in it' s culture. Whats wrong with Poland? I once dated a Pole....She was stick thin though...

Whats wrong with Poland? I once dated a Pole....She was stick thin though... I liked Saddam. He pulled Iraq out of the dark ages and put things like a national health service into place. Hell, America and Iraq (under Saddam) were on very good terms until Bush senior took office. I haven' t been to Iraq yet, ...it' s probably not a great place to be right now, ...but i' ll go there some day. I quite like the Middle East. Mostly. They probably have some sort of gangster-esque culture but it' s more Warlords and sectarianism than the kind of culture seen in Russia. As for Poland, ...it' s the back of beyond. That' s why they flock to the UK. They turn up and get given somewhere to live, money to buy food and money to buy clothes, ...except they all manage to afford more expensive clothes than Britons holding down fulltime jobs. It' s a joke. Plus, the Polish treated Jews like shit during the war. They acted like Nazi lapdogs, but the spineless fuckers were seen as pathetic by the Germans. Fuckers.

It' s not just the poles that flock to this country to do that, but maybe that topic is best for another type of forum as I get quite heated about the whole immigrants coming to the UK taking all the benefits and taking this country for all they can. I really hope they have looked at " Crackdown" and " borrowed" some ideas from that, as that game is in my top 5 of all time now.

Crackdown is definitely awesome, but it' s limited. It' s a shame there weren' t side quests like in other sandbox games, but the game as it is was perfectly executed. I think they need to add some rudimentary RPG elements and build upon the empire (real estate) building found in Vice City Stories. What would be great is having proper indoor locations like shopping malls and stuff. Having a mini Dead Rising within GTA IV would be awesome!

Crackdown is very much like an old-style arcadey game - it could almost be handled with a single set of direction controls, jump, and fire. That isn' t a bad thing, in fact it has been one of the most fun games I' ve played recently, however I like some depth to these sort of games in order to create a fuller experience, they definitely need to expand on some of the RPG elements that were in GTASA and integrate them more into the main story line.

They did have that in Vice city where you could go into the clothes shops and obviously ammunation, and in SA they had the food shops as well. I still feel that a prison element would have been a good idea to add. I know what you mean about side quests in Crackdown, I am just trying to find the last of the agility orbs and the hidden orbs.

The Poles over there are sober enough to drive to the UK? WTF! Culture Shock! Being a good whatever percent Polish, I can say that, but I can see why you guys would be angry. On to GTA... umm... Well, a decent part of me was wishing we' d get something other than Liberty City. Detroit anyone? You' d think it' d be pretty high on their list, but the whole re-hashing thing just isn' t doing it for me.

I like the enviroments, While not breath-taking they sure look better in motion, much better those to be found in saints row and the like. A little boring, but what more can you do with the same city for the 3rd time? Altough the getaway looks nicer. I also like the Main chartacter. He sounds much more Russian to me, I have gotten to know what polish and those western europeans sound like. But I ain' t no expert. I am still not sold on the game yet, if its the same gameplay. I wont get it. But somehow, I know I' ll end up with it. Another thing is, I see that stores are allready stocking preorder case boxes on shelfs. I say its on track for Q4.

Hopefully there will be a demo, after all if bungie can beta test / demo H3 then I am sure Rockstar could do the same, maybe along the lines of the Crackdown demo 30 mins playing time just to get a feel.

So I am lost in this discussion. The 360 only thing, was it a mistake? The graphics are a let down, and after playing Crackdown (open city as basically a superhero) I dont know if I could handle being confined to slow movement and cars around a large city.

The 360 only thing, was it a mistake? The only official word has been that it' s going to debut at the same day for 360 and PS3. If that' s changed there hasn' t been any real announcement about it.

This is Rockstar, don' t expect as much mindless action in GTa4 but more in-depth story. Looking at that intro alone you can see its direction is aimed towards a more blockbuster film approach. Expect more, Scandal, politics, secret societies? GTA4 is giong to be alot deeper than some may think..

GTA will be GTA, playing as a gangsta doesnt give me a hard on, and they dont even get it right, wheres the rape and pillaging, torching kindergardens. It might have been cool if they let you do anything, and i mean anything. A complete virtual world, anything beyond that, bah!

I want a Boondock Saints-esque " go get the mafia" game. Playing a wanksta doesn' t interest me much. The Russian thing is interesting, but definately not enough to make me pay $60 for it.
