this thread had more replies then the most replied Movies and Everythign Else threads put together...

Delay announcement
Heated Debate

Guess we all went a lil (extremely) below our own standards...

So, this is actually out next week in the US. The general vibes coming from people with the Japanese release is that it' s great. I for one cannot wait.

I thought this thread might come back from the dead.

Somehow GT4 seems to have lost its momentum with the hype. Parhaps it' s something to do with the delays, or it could be that ironically, the release of Prologue means everyone is slightly less pumped about the final version. I am still looking forward to it, but my excitement about getting my hands on Prologue over a year ago was far greater.

I didn' t really see the appeal of paying £20 for a glorified demo and hence waited a couple of months after the Japanese release before picking it up for around the £10 mark. However, playing Prolouge really did make me excited about GT4. The Italian hillside village did it for me - wow!

Even tho I am lacking a PS2, I still find myself interested in this game. Altho probably not as much as a perosn who will be able to actually play it.

I havent kept up on th enews with it but have they put in any sort of damage to the cars or did they finnally just scrap tha idea comepletly?

Picking up Prologue only cemented my dislike for the series even more, lol.. At least I gave Gran Turismo 4 the ol college try, the series just isn' t for me it seems. I want a Ridge Racer 6 darnit!! A more traditional Outrun 3!

I' m still not very interested in the game. I bought the last one but I never got around to playing it as it should have been played. Hopefully a friend of mine will pick it up and I' ll get to play through some races at his place, and if not...oh well, lol.

To tell you the truth I thought the series was gonna be crap since the first time I played the first game...maybe I might have been a fan if I hadnt thought that about the first game and gave the others a chance.

The only reason I' m interested in this is because, unlike other game genres, I think racers should have a very realistic look even if with arcady gameplay. And this looks very visually appealing buuuuut, lacks drivers, damage, track deformation from scraping or the already missing crashing. This game is tooooo focused on how it looks that it fears destroying it aesthetically in anyway. Thats where Forza comes in, altho not as much eye candy, it does have the physical realism.

Overall, GT seems more like a car show. Im there to marvel at the looks, but here can actually take them for a spin...altho I still cannot destroy the beautiful ***s!

One last thing, I was watching the gameplay footage (or at leats replays from the game), um are there at least streak marks in the streets from the tires? I was watching and just saw no alterations what so ever in the cars or tracks...(I guess this relates back up to the 2nd paragraph).
