Favourite In-game moments

I figured, seeing how I have already done a " favourite cutscene" thread a while back, I should make a thread about everybody' s favourite in-game moments. I really enjoy watching enemy AI beating the living hell out off each other, ala Halo 2 (among other games). I also love getting up on top of a large building and then, after observing the wonderful scenery below, diving off onto the solid hard ground, which I mostly do in Spiderman 2. It' s fun to torture characters in other ways as well. Anyway what are some of your favourite moments?

-Playing Call of Duty online, and getting 10 one-shot-kills in a row. I giggle. -Glitching Mario 64, it also makes me giggle. -Listening to the MGS2 theme and watching my tears form in the mirror. -Playing Hour of Victory, and watching my tears form in the mirror. -Gaining levels in ranked matches. -Unlocking Achievements without trying. -Listening to Queen whilst playing Dead Rising.

One of my favourite gaming moments is the first time you step out into the Phendrana Drifts in Metroid Prime. The music, the atmosphere! Just Brilliant.

The first time I played Halo: CE and saw the fire fights in the Pillar of Autaum. Getting out of the sewers in Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. Wowza, way to make me feel overwhelemed. First time I chainsawed someone in Gears of War... but now the magic is kind of gone. Playin the Halo 3 Beta and finishing the level with a + kill score. Playing Wii Sports with my friends at parties... Playing Wii boxing, since I do martial arts its kind of funny when people want to beat me up " virtually" .

ORIGINAL: ginjirou Learning the " Counter Elbow Assault" in Shenmue 2 and later using it on Dou Niu. Ginjirou I love you man. That' s my favorite as well. The way the game builds up to that moment is just incredible. That whole fight on the roof is just the best scene I' ve ever played. And then finishing off Dou Niu with that count elbow assault is just amazing.

Just playing Mario 64 for the first time was breath takening Playing Gears Of War for the first time, my jaw dropped at the amazing graphics and music. Just playing Phantasy Star Online on dreamcast, it got me hooked on online gaming. Final Fantasy 7, the whole game was amazing at the time, I was sucked into it. etc, etc.

Just playing Mario 64 for the first time was breath takening Oh my, how could I have forgotten that? I loved running around the huge 3D world of Mario 64, in comparison with the previous 2D side-scrolling games, for the very first time. I was only 8 when I first played it. I was filled with glee with the combination of Nintendo characters in Super Smash Bros, and I especially enjoyed their own unique entrances, which were stupidly removed in Melee. Playing A Link To The Past for the very first (and second and third, etc) time on the SNES with the experience of the huge open world. Playing Powerstone and Smash Bros against complete strangers, with loads of other people crowded around the television screen. Not sure if that counts as in-game though...

Getting spiked in the original Prince of Persia for the first time! Getting cut in half in the sequel to Prince of Persia for the first time! Watching the Introduction movie for the game I-War (not in game but its super great, 15 minutes of CGI, in the worlds greatest Space Sim) Playing Soldier of fortune, blowing peoples knee caps off, using your shot gun on their abdomens while they are humping, to watch their guts fall out! Realizing that soldiers in Halflife actually had a plan to kill and we trying harder than any other enemy in a game before it. Making the perfect plan in Rainbow Six executing it to perfection on the first go with zero dead soldiers! Blowing half the body of an enemy in fallout 1+2 Each and every level in Ninja Gaiden made me feel good Completing every stage in Quake III in every difficulty, raid gun accuracy at 100% My first Doom death matches over Com Cable. Hey games arent what they used to be, its been awhile since i was truly amazed, i hope Mass Effect will be really good!

In Shadow of the Colossus, The First time you see the huge Colossus and press x to whistle at him, The colossus is way down some valley and slowly turns around and the music starts, that was great.

Beating up a gang member on foot in GTA 3 with my bare hands right at the start of the game. Running away as one atatcked me with a baseball bat and leadign him across a road where he was run over and I could steal his weapon Seeing the giant robot Robotnic boss in the Death Egg zone in Sonic 2 and killing it after 12 hits, rather than the standard 8. Getting all the Emeralds, Super Emeralds and beating the final bosses with every character in Sonic 3 & Knuckles. Just playing NiGHTS, flying around and collecting stuff Setting sail in LoZ: WW for the first time. First stealth kill with a new weapon in Manhunt.

Playing the first few games right when I purchased my Xbox. It was the first time I had ever heard freakin' videogames in 5.1 Dolby Digital sound. And it sounded jawesome on my phiggidy phat sound system. From that moment on I knew that Pro Logic II was for pussies.

The first time Pai countered one of my punches in the original VF. She beat my ass, and all I could say was " OMG, she just f*cking countered my attack!" The first encounter with the Flood in Halo. Luckily I had 5.1 and I got the full effect of hearing them bang against the walls behind me, then turning and watching the doors break open. The first time the old man taught me a new move in Shenmue. Awesome how they actually talk you through doing the move instead of just telling you what buttons to press.
