If you game at a desk (A.K.A. less than 3-4 feet from your screen), then I reccommend this sucker. A 22in CRT, 1080p capable, god I sound like a salesperson, no I' m not getting commision for this...

oh,

sorry.

But anyway it' s a really nice monitor, I' ve seen it in person & it' s really gorgeous.

If you' re more than 3-4 feet away though, then I' m not the person to talk to. I don' t even bother with big screen tech anymore.

Well... maybe that 82in LCD at CES.

wait isnt £100 about $150? If so, then i doubt your going to get the best out of your 360. I suggest a 32 in(unless you have room for a 37 or 42) Samsung. You really cant go wrong with a Samsung, which you could get for about $1000. or if its too much you could probably find a 26 in for $800-ish

I know a " pund" is 12 kronor and the dollar is 7 kronor.

So no.

It' s much more, but for that 1200 kr,the best thing would be a Pc monitor that has been used...i guess...

Try renting something at least that way you can change the TV every 12 months or so and get a more up to date TV.

100 pound is the same as 150 Dollars.

If you want to get a big as HDTV, you would want more than 10times that amount.
As everybody else said, A moniter is your only choice, Ebay is your friend.

You' re pretty limited on choice with little cash and little room, but I' d recommend a widescreen LCD monitor. For slightly over £100 you could get something like this?

LCD monitors aren' t as bright or as smooth as HDTVs, but they' re a hell of a lot better value for money! (CRTs are smooth and bright, but be prepared to make some more room! Plus they' re not widescreen..)

ofc you' d have to get a VGA cable too and some speakers to plug the audio into. Compared to component I find the colours with VGA get washed out a little. But compared to your 50Hz SDTV it should be a better experience overall.

They make Wisdescreen CRT. Dont they?

What about Samsuangs slimline tvs?

Anyway do with a LCD moniter for that kinda cash its pretty much your only choice if you want the most out of your 360. Gonna need to pick up the VGA cables also.

Yea they make widescreen CRT TVs but widescreen CRT monitors are rare I suppose.

Plus HD-CRT TVs haven' t really taken off here in the UK. (Can' t seem to find any Sammy slimlines here.) I wish they had, but they seem to be going all out for LCD and plasma at the moment.

They' re gorgeous. That' s all you need to know. I actually had my brother (who cares nothing about " those reso-graphi-lution-watts & hertz thingies) impressed by the picture quality. I' m just wondering why their 26" TV costs 500-600 dollars more than a 21" monitor. Tuners aren' t that damn expensive.

Those Sammy slim-fit HD CRT' s have been around for a year over here in the UK. However they are 90% bad. You' ve got more chance of getting one with piss-poor geometry and really bad blur at the edges than a decent one. Lazy calibration and the questionable slim tube design is behind this.

If you get a good one though it' s great, especially as the UK version actually displays 480i/P and 1080i natively through component, and 576i/P also.

It' s only available in 32" though, and not a more reasonable 28" .

The model numbers are:

WS32Z409TQX (the older black model)
WS32z419D (all black with freeview)

WS32Z429TQX (silver, replacement for above)

For all these TV' s I would advise you go into the service menu and turn off any artificial processing. Makes for a much better image, and helps stop smearing on 100hz processing over scart and composite which you can' t turn off. You can see how at the avforums.com.

It' s our only HD CRT option sadly.

Anyway one of you guys said you can get widescreen CRT PC monitors. Any chance on directing me in where to get one (preferably around 25" ).

Well, when I said ' rare' I really meant non-existent afaik!

Another gap in the market though to go with HD-CRT TVs. Can' t wait until new tech comes out that will reclaim picture quality over style. I can' t be arsed with HD-LCD TVs at the moment. There' s some good stuff on the horizon though it seems - SED, Laser, Texas Instruments' new DLPs...

I was looking at those, but sadly they all seem to be ' fixed pixel' displays. The reason I favour CRT so much is due to it having the ability to do multiple resolutions natively without scaling. Mainly 480p and 1080i. I will keep an old TV for 240p stuff.

Someone needs to find a way of making a flat multi-sync display. That would be awesome, not stuff which is dependant on artificial, digital processing.

Sad to hear about the CRT PC monitors though, guess that route is truly out of the question.

Just get a PS3 & hook up 2 monitors to it. Duuuuuhhhhhhh Kyo.k!

I can' t be arsed with HD-LCD TVs at the moment.

Yeah, I' m not going to invest in LCD untill we get:
Standard 100000:1 contrast ratio.
170' vewing angle. (standard)
Cheap 1080p
Less than 3ms response time. No ghosting on my screen, No sirrz.

I' m wicked picky, but compared to the rather nice CRT alternative, I should be.
DLP doesn' t interest me much, they don' t make ' em desktop size. The biggest I could invest in would be a 26" , & even still, that' s pushing it a bit.

My thoughts exactly, and I want 10 bit colour as well.
