Space Harrier on the Sega Master System (you Brits looooves the Sega Master System) was the first videogame I ever bought, and it remains a definite favorite. Otherwise there are way too many to mention. But that never stopped me.

Space Harrier - SMS - 32X - Saturn
What a great game with awesome graphics and brilliant music! The SMS had larger characters than the arcade and also an extra boss that could not fit into the limited memory of the cheap-o arcade game. The 32X was exactly like the arcade in every way possible, except for a hint of slowdown. The Saturn removed the slowdown. Rutubo games did well.

Choplifter - Sega Master System
I bought this at the same time I bought Space Harrier. This game was great fun and also had multi-layered scrolling. It got me to take notice in all things 3D. My artwork improved twentyfold because of my new 3D and perspective awareness, and I owe it all to the moment of noticing that things closer to you scroll faster than things further away from you.

Phantasy Star - Sega Master System
Simply way too awesome. Sega made sure that every Phantasy Star game was inferior to the first, because they didn' t want to ruin the legend. Like they could even if they tried. PS2 was great and so was PS4. PS4 finally went back to the roots.

Many Others - Multiple Systems
Yeah! There were so many more great games, but I' ll stop here because I don' t know how " old" you mean by " oldschool" . I hated all of the Amiga games that ended up on the Genesis, though. Shadow of the Beast was horrible for all systems. So was any Cinemaware game. And let' s not forget Titus. yeah!

You are not British, but this site is. Adam Doree even has an accent. You also have an accent, but it seems different from Adam' s. I obviously have no accent at all. :)

Rock N Roll Racing on the SNES...what a game and the SNES has to be my favourite all time console. Other worthy games of mention include Super Mariokart, the first Star Wars game, Unirally (Uniracers in the States).

i agree, although a little differently, that the SNES is a great console, but not of all times.

games i liked --super mario kart, super mario bros, super mario all stars, super mario 3, cybernator, dongkey kong country 3: dixie kong' s double trouble

hm...u think i should' ve gotten a GameCube instead of an Xbox for all the Nintendo stuff i mentioned up there?

I' m going a ways back, but my brother had a Vectrex. He still has it and it still works great. I believe he had all the games for it and, of course, still does. My fav was Star Trek (of course) and Mine Sweeper. Here is the site for it if anyone cares

Contra and Marble Madness are untouchable undesputed champions. If you are shaking your head or saying no, stop lying to yourself, you know they are the greatest. MM' s sound effects (mainly death) and music where kick ass. Tiger Heli is up there too, maybe exite bike.

It creeped me out aswell... Maybe it was the music or lack there of? I can' t recall..

My favourite old game was probably one of the Cinemaware ones...

Wings perhaps...

I was a vintage aircraft freak as a kid.
