I don' t think there is anything wrong with hiding items behind waterfalls and what have you. That way, the game encourages you to explore more, rather than just running to objective to objective. You know what I' m sayin? In a sense, these games reward you in this way for exploring...They may not be original ideas but they can help the fun factor n my opinion.

Boss cliche'

A game doesn' t need " bosses" at the end of each level to be great. Halo is a perfect example of this (Halo 2 is not). Was good back in the arcade days but now it is just boring.

Mario cliche'

Only applies to Nintendo games. Please Nintendo, stop putting him in every single game you make. Sure one game a year is enough but when you have three different versions of him in a single game (smash bros) it gets kinda old. Nintendo should revolutionize the revolution by making up new characters.

People are either down with magic, or down with technology. Never both. Except for the adventuring party, which usually has one of each discipline that are at odds with each other.

Half Vampires! I will get Darkwatch, but this is the LAST time I will accept this cliche!

Daytonadav, a cliche is a plot device or idea that is used too much.

A wizard that wears a big pointy hat is cliche.

A flying ship in Role Playing Games is cliche.

A flying ship in Role Playing Games is cliche.

And its pretty stupid too, a sailing ship is not in anyway shape or form aerodynamic enough for it to be able to soar through the skies, though usually the explanation for why the ship has the ability to fly is because its powered by magic stones that serve as its fuel!

Cliche:

Starting off as a girl in an RPG or strategy game. Fire Emblem, Golden Sun, Tales of Symphonia and Starfox Adventures come to mind. Why not start off as a dude, then earning the right to play a girl, huh?

Door' s that are way to small to walk through, like a door that wasn' t meant to be walked through, so it is shrunk.

I didn' t word that right, but most of you guys know what I mean.
