It is a fair way off and work has just gotten underway but they plan on having a fall release.

Fall 2007 just keeps looking better and better. If you own a ps3 and 360, you are certainly going to have your hands full with a ton of great games.

Well, downloadable games don' t tend to be system sellers.

I agree to an extent that the Wii can attract people that like older simpler games, but Street Fighter appeals to hardcore gamers, and loyal fans of the genre. The other thing is, this is going to be all new artwork and an updated system, displaying at 1080p. The wii can only do 480p, hence it being ps3 and 360 only.

The Guilty Gear series has pretty much the best 2D sprites and animation (in a fighting game). IMO anyway.

Yes they are completely revamping the artwork. The majority of it is being done by Udon Comics who have done the Street Fighter comics. No mention was made of online play, and from the sound of it I' m not sure it will. It is completely based on Street Fighter II turbo, " The exact, exact way" as the rep puts it. I would like online though, especially so I could play against my cousin who had every street fighter for SNES when I was groing up.

Hopefully there will be an adapter that lets me use the Saturn controller, because the Xbox360 controller is garbage.

Sounds cool, but the fact that it plays like the old Street fighter 2 disapoints me, as I am so bored of that game.

Reading joystiq it seems like this is gonna have online play which would be great, but looking around this title is a must have for me, found an image for y' all of what they are sort of aiming for with the hd res comparissons.
