WTF kind of brand is " Zotac" , I would never buy that.

Anyway, 8800GTS isn' t worth the cost, for $100 more you can get an 8800GTX which outperforms it by like 30%.

Ive read somewhere that Zotac is a sister company to Sapphire who are pretty decent..

But that deal sounds too dodgy to me.

Dam, is this how cheap these Dx 10 cards are going for now? cool.

Cheap?? You could almost get a PS3 for that price. (The gtx' s actually go for near to £400. Steep eh?)

But yea, I' m looking forward to Alan Wake, Crysis, Bioshock, World in Conflict and UT3. By the time Alan Wake comes out, I reckon I' ll be upgrading. For everything else I' ll stick to my current rig.

8800GTX is $500, 8800GTS is $400, but the GTX is 30% better for 20% more price, so its better to just by a GTX.

Shootin' down trees in Crysis is gonna' keep me busy for hours.

The only one I haven' t followed is FPS Creator. It has amazing potential, but looks like a tube-sock full of poopie.

Lol, when I played it at GDC I couldn' t stop! Between that and picking up guys by the throat as a human shield I was having an absolute blast!

Where can you find a 8800GTX at 500$? They cost 700C$ at NCIX or 550$US at Newegg.

Yeah, they all look nice.
Too bad neither PS3, or X360 can use DX10.

Yeah ..MS should have designed the x360 so that it could make use of dx10 ? The GPU was obviously one of the factors for not doing so ..

X360 pretty much does use DX10. All DX10 really does over DX9 is optimization type stuff, which is a big deal, but it can' t really do anything graphically that DX9 can' t. The main part of DX10 is the unified shaders which X360 has. So it can do pretty much anything feature wise that DX10 cards can. PS3 can' t though.

Lets get practical here.

360 CPU can perfrom (or even emulate) some Directx 10 features..

Take the Best Example on 360 so far: GOW then compare that to a full DX10, PC title, IE: Crysis. the evidence is quite clear why Crytech won' t even bother trying to translate the game to 360, not even worth the effort

The reason for that is raw power not DX10 features.

I think DX10 is over-hyped like most things in this industry.
I' m sure it' ll make improvements but I think it' s mostly up to the PC' s specs and the developers if a game is impressive or not.
