Sounds like the ongoing rumor that started a couple months ago. Usually MS likes to talk about anything they are adding or doing, so if it was real, I would think they would say something by now. If they don' t say anything by the time the ps3 releases in Europe, to try and counter some of the ps3' s features, then I wouldn' t see it coming anytime soon.

I consider this rumor to be possible although I' m sceptical on the time frame they talk aobut. One thing is for sure is that they are soon putting a better disc drive in the 360' s. The disc drive is the reason why the 360' s are so loud, so this should is good news to those who haven' t bought a 360 yet.

This kinda sucks for people who already have 360' s. Now i have to buy a new HD and my 360 doesnt look as cool as the black one

If Microsoft wants to keep me as their (current) favorite next-gen console. They WILL do the following.

-Make any HDD compatible with the 360, not just their $100 20gig ripoff.
- Provide a discount to anyone who wants to update to Zephyr, which may or may not exist.
-Phase out Core. Nobody really wants it anyway.

If you know what to do, you can have a bigger HDD without updating.

Just trying to complile all the old info. First I should know though, are you just planning on using your " spare" HDD space for movies,music,videos? Because right now there' s no way to really expand your game content. At least, none that have been proven anyway. AKA, use your external HDD for movies & music, & use your real one for demos & XNA/Arcade games.

Newer drives are starting to hit manufacture lines already. The new BenQ, Philips and LiteOn drives are all apparently much quieter than the current ones.

I was just brainstorming, but i think they should put a USB port on the new HD so you could put movies, music, etc.

The only thing that really sucks is you have to buy another HD. As far as the color goes you could buy a case thats the same color for a pretty far price, or even paint your 360

Indeed it is, but the fan noise on mine greatly overpowers the disc drive. In fact the drive on mine isn' t much louder than a DC.
