Well my dad wants the ps3 and I want the 360 so any comments on them other than the basics.

Its all about taste,but ps3 will genereally produce more games and rpg' s.
Sorry i cant say more without start a flamewar,i myself is going both.

Doesnt wanna miss lost odyssye,blue dragon,halo3,gears of war,pgr3,doa4 for ex or mgs4,FF12(i know its coming to ps2 but my ps2 is at my brother so plz?),FF13 Gran turismo4,killzone2 etc...

Just tell your dad to buy you the 360, the more complete package ;), and you' ll buy him the PS3 with the money he' s going to loan you. :).

I would like to get both but have to settle for just one (saving for College). I think the difference between 360 and ps3 will be much smaller than the difference between ps2 and xbox. Performance wise we still don' t know if either will perform better (they are that close). In terms of amount of games, Microsoft will catch up to Sony next gen and will be very close. So the only decent way to make a choice is to look at the exclusive games on each platform. In the next gen we will see alot more multiplatform games then this gen. However Sony will still have more Japanese support while M$ will have more western (American/European) support. So if you really like traditional Japanese RPGs go for ps3, if you like better/modern innovative RPGs like Fable,Kotor,Elder Scrolls, Jade Empire go for 360. Personally I hate most Japanese games (I like Tekken and Dynasty Warriors that' s it) not including Nintendo games of course. But don' t listen to anyone else, you should know what types of games you like.
If you want to convince your father to get a 360, tell him that Japanese developers are generally in serious financial trouble and will be unable to push next gen consoles to their limits, meanwhile M$ learned alot from their first attempt at console manufacturing (360 is a great platform to develop for, powerful, flexible and easier then ps3 to use all the performance). I bet the 360 will have more AAA titles than ps3. KillZone,MGS,Jak,DMC,Warhawk,GT,Tekken and God of War IMO can' t compete with Halo,Huxley,Oblivion,Kotor,Jade Empire,PGR,Gears of War and Perfect Dark.

he he well If I could get to game systems in my house I would but the real reason I' m most likely going to end up with a ps3 is the blueray which in my dosen' t matter but my dad dosen' t play games so he wants to get SOMETHING out of it. Now of course I have tryed to persuade him with came selection but he dosen' t care.
