Apart from not being widescreen, it' s fine.

Widescreen formatted games will display with black borders top and bottom so you' ll have to think about that. If you' re sitting close to it then it should be ok. You' ll get a nice crisp image and the washed out VGA colours were fixed in the last update.

What are your other options?

I would avoid LG Flatrons for anything but basic PC work. Games and especially the 360 will look better on a lot of other monitors.

The only way to go is widescreen in my opinion. And if you want inexpensive and good quality then Sammy' s and Viewsonics are good.

I decided to compromise my 360 gaming for higher res PC gaming, and went for a Viewsonic 2025 which does 1680x1050, so 720p isnt native and things look slightly blurred.

If you want native res widescreen monitor for the 360, there aren' t many unfortunately. Tbh, I cant really find any good options. But there are plenty of 19" widescreens that do 1440x900 which is closest. Even more options for 20-22" 1680x1050 monitors if you dont mind the slightly less sharp image.

eg.
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/114797
http://www.vnunet.com/personal-computer-world/hardware/2159088/samsung-syncmaster-940bw

As an example this ones got good response time and HDCP support.

Of course a standard 5:3 monitor can give you native res, but the black bars are something I cant tolerate personally. If you can you might as well go for a CRT too.

Dont think I' ve helped much heh, but good luck!

Here

it' s in french but please show me a good monitor for the 360, between 2000 Dh - 3000 dh

1$ = 8.5 Dh

for easy calculation just consider $1 = 10 dh.

No.

5ms is acceptable, but an 800:1 contrast ratio isn' t. You need something in the 3000:1 range, but even 1500:1 would be far better than 800:1 because at 800:1 your blacks will look grey.

THIS is better. Not perfect, but certainly better - or there' s THIS

i will cry right now..................

damn it those screens you showed are in france , they need 20 days for bringing them here, THAT if they keep their words about the 20 days... i' m really thinking about that first screen but it' s not widescreen, it' s really great 2ms and 1:3000 that' s really good but it' s 4:3 i wouldn' t mind if some games have black bars at the top and bottom but i would hate it if it squeezes the picture to fill up top/bottom space...

quez you mentioned the 360 lets you choose the right resolution for your monitor yet many games are incompatible with many of these res, so as far as i know and i' m not very sure, no matter what the res in the dashboard says it all depends on the game you playing and whether or not it supports the assigned resolution.

You need a widescreen monitor. Going 5:4 or 4:3 would be a bad idea because even though you can select the native resolution in most cases (say 1280 x 1024) you still either get black bars or end up manually re-sizing the picture because it' s been stretched to fill the screen.

What about THIS ???

it looks fantastic, welcome me to the HD era , no problem so far , set the resolution to 1330*768 on the dashboard and everything is fine, i tried Ace combat, virtua, half life, Dirt, no problem whatsoever, i' m very happy with my purchase, specialy with dual input, i don' t need to go to the back and unplug the cables... thank you both of you for your advice, it was really appreciated.

i really do but i don' t have time for that, glad i upgraded before trying many of the big guns coming up. i heard that VGA is the second best output after HDMI, is that true... another question that might sound weird, is it totally ok to leave the xbox360 power supply plugued 24/7 or almost...

For the 360 vga is sharper than component although that diminishes the further from native res you go.

I still think component has the edge on colour and contrast. Also some people prefer a smoother image, gets rid of jaggies!

Now the elites out, I want a DVI cable and support for resolutions between 720p and 1080p.

And I' ve only unplugged my 360 a few times pretty much since I bought it 2 years ago! Bit of waste of electricity since we' re all trying to save energy these days, but no red rings so far!
