Install games onto 360 hard-drive video leak - Aug 12, 2008 23:55
This video is labeled as demo installation but I'm certain its actually installing the game.

Here's gametrailers e3 walkthrough also. It may have been posted already but here it is anyways:

I dont get why so many people are hating on it.

I am not hating it, however what will it do to a theme that you have already paid for? It also seems a bit to childlike, I am just glad it is not going to be made compulsory.

I'm either going to upgrade to a 120GB or delete everything non-game save related off my 20GB. I have around 25 games on my HD and they only take up 6GB, but I only have 4GB left on my HD. I saw a vid that said installing GTAIV would be 6.8GB.

So when is this new update coming out?  How much HD space will it take up?  ANYTHING is better than the current and crappy "blade" system.

Which one are you referring to as Fisher Price? They both suck, but the new one looks like it was made for my little brothers.

The blades are chubby, and rather childish looking. It's better than Wii's channel system, but the XMB has it beat for classy minimalism, if not effectiveness. I only use it regularly on a PS3, I don't know how well it works on a home console.

WIN

Correct Thread:

The old one is more kiddish, rounded edges, bright colours.  The only shit point about the new look are the avatars, which might be be disableable.  And don't think about that last word for too long because it will give you a fucking migrain.

Looks alright to me.  They should have let Apple design it.  Then it would be intuitive.  Since MS designed it, it will chug your system resources and be counterintuitive.

Dat's just how it be.

Great to see M$ going the cool way in designing their interface. I like it more than the blade system.

Isnt that about the size of the game (a bit shy of the DVD size)? If thats the case isnt this "installing" thing just copying the game to the HD and playing it from there? [Im not dissing them or anything since its faster than playing from the DVD drive (maybe quiter too), but just speculating]. Its obviously asking for the DVD to be inserted to make sure you have the game not just rent it, install it and then give it back.

Maybe, but then it would only play ACC music files and .MOV movies, and only run %5 of the games.

No, it would play everything except WMA and WMV and require a plug-in for those two.  Nobody likes WMA or WMV anyway.  MP3 totally r000lz j00.  Actually uncompressed PCM is best.  We can all afford the hard drive space, right?  Oh wait, MS won't let you install your own HD.

Mp3 is all well and good if the bitrate is high enough... but it rarely is.
