Me too. Without the big boys there would be no little ones! Plus the industry needs big hitters to defend the industry. Don' t forget the founders of EA went on to ESA etc.. which protect games developers.

Didn' t you came close to working for them or something?

I used to hate EA. Now I just hate EA Sports. Aside from the sport games EA publishes some of the best games.

EA is shit because they buy promising or good studios and make them milk out their products instead of try something new or invest in something epic.

I used to like the the Battlefield and MoH series, however the last 2 incarnations of MoH (pacific and airbourne I found a bit of a let down.)

It would likely have still happened if my application for residency in canada had been approved. But meh, i' m not dwelling on it.

It' s a great company to work for as far as the working environment is concerned but there' s almost zero creative freedom - although i expect that to change over the next couple of years as they restructure.

I think the quality of their big titles will fluctuate for a while. SKATE is fantastic, but Army of Two looked like ass. Fortunately they had the good sense to delay it for improvement, ...not that it' ll be any good anyway.

Well i' m going off the state of their offices and testing labs etc... I don' t know about work related stresses, though i know some guys that work for EA and they' ve never complained openly. I figure it' s just like working for any other major corporation!?

I dont think I could ever like EA unless they stop resorting to some of the tactics they use. Its the subtle things that count, and most of their strategies are downright devious and greedy. Whenever I play an EA game, I cant help feeling as though I' m being treated as a fool.

But you' re right, without big companies like them selling to the masses, games would still be a niche hobby.
