Rumor: 360 price drop next week
-
Jun 27, 2008 09:52
A user on the High-Def Digest forums has posted a scan of what is claimed to be an upcoming Kmart weekly ad, one that indicates a price drop will hit the Xbox 360 line-up the week before E3. The ad, purported to hit July 6, shows that the model that comes equipped with a 20GB hard drive, formerly known as the ' Pro' version, will be priced at $299 US. That' s a $50 price drop from its current MSRP. The ad scan doesn' t indicate further price adjustments for the ' Arcade' or ' Elite' models, but with the lower end SKU currently priced at $279, we would assume that it will have to be adjusted somehow. Consider it rumor for now, but we' ll be getting in touch with them to learn more. LINK

That' s too much still. I have 3 xbox 360' s with iextreme firmware and I payed less than $100 for all 3. Bought them from morons on ebay who think their console is broken, one of my retarded friends wants to buy one from me for $400.

Hopefully Sony will lower the price on the PS3 to compete

That' s likely... what I wonder is if Nintendo will feel any pressure at all to cut the price of the Wii. I seriously doubt it... it' s consistenly moving so many more units than either Sony or MS.

I think Nintendo instead of lowering the price should put more hardware in it so it becomes more appealing to a more demanding audience

Hell no. The wii could be $400 and most dumbasses who bought it for wii sports would still buy it. ...I hope the 360 rumor is true for all three models. I think I' m going to eventually buy an elite so I can just mess around with the one I have now. But it wont matter after this year because the warranty ends at the end of the year if I' m not mistaken.
