Samba de Amigo hitting Wii!!

Samba de Amigo Shake its Thing on Wii Latest issue of Nintendo Power confirms rumour of maraca-waving rhythm game. by Rob Burman, IGN UK UK, September 24, 2007 - When the Wii was first unveiled one of the initial titles that plenty of people said they would love to see on the arm-waggling console was SEGA' s maraca-shaking rhythm action game Samba de Amigo. Well, after months of rumours, it' s finally been revealed that it is heading to Wii. It began with the latest issue of American magazine Nintendo Power, which carries a teaser for Samba de Amigo Wii on its front cover along with a picture of happy monkey Amigo. What' s more, according to various forums, an article inside the mag announces that GearBox Software is working on the Wii version, which features new and classic songs. And after a just-received confirmation from SEGA of America we can all sleep peacefully, knowing that a Wii version of our favorite " monkey playing maracas" videogame is truly on the way. No further info is currently available at this time, but at least it' s official; the monkeys are coming. Hahahaha I knew this would happen. SEGA are really getting back in form if you ask me. First they give us NiGHTS and that one seems to be shaping up rather well. And now they are serving us some Sambe de Amigo. Now this is great news.

Is this a joke or for real? I am not being sarcastic, I really want to know if this is a joke or for real, as I have never ever heard of this game.

Powerstone is on the PSP. PSP > Wii+DS Yeah, but multiplayer is a lot more fun on the home console versions. Dreamcast > PSP I guess this means no sign of a new Sega console anytime soon then... I really want to know if this is a joke or for real, as I have never ever heard of this game. Samba De Amigo

Was this a good game? Yeah, it was a blast! Absolutely stunningly weird visuals. The original Dreamcast version with official maraca controllers commands ridiculous prices on ebay.

Hehe, I didn' t know that guy. Anyway, it' s kind of ironic actually that Sega already had online gaming and things like maracas, fishing rods etc. without it becoming big. They even wanted to create something like a wand for a NiGHTS game. At the same time they had diverse games which should' ve appealed to many different gamers. Instead, Xbox got big with the online thing and Wii now with the motion sensitive things.

I have to say that Sega sucked at marketing. They didn' t manage to hype things as the other companies. Sega didn' t work well as a company. It was more like a club of developers and businessmen doing what they believed in.

It' s one of those games ahead of its time that showed the diversity of gaming styles on the Dreamcast. Thanks Ys. I think I am starting to remember this game. Never got it when I had my Dreamcast, but I do remember seeing the maraca controllers in EB Games. You' re right. A game well ahead of its time.
