Just got back from the theater, and I have to say, they really turned out something tolerable this time. I' ve never been the biggest fan of the movies, they tended to candy-coat everything they laid their hands on, but this one was substantially grimmer, which was a good thing.
This is the first movie in the series that could have held it' s weight without the Harry Potter label attatched, which was good to see. They weren' t just relying on some protege child actors & some old british faces to sell some tickets. They actually put a bit of time & effort into the character development. At least more than the first 4. It was a pleasant surprise for sure.
Edit: Oh, by the way, just polished off the seventh book... phenominal!

It was a freaking bloodbath.
