Laser TV - Affordable and better alternative

How about for gaming? Would for example, having a HD Laser TV in future be incompatible with current HD-ready consoles like the 360 and PS3? Either way, I' m going to try to get a large-screen one to replace my projection TV (it burst into flames the next day [literally] when I played 4 hours of Xbox the night before)
