I have a Shenmue 3 question.

I know that there' s no news on Shenmue 3. But I read an article on this website. Shenmue 3 ready for next gen. and there' s a sentence that I don' t understand. It says: the texture and modelling work is ready, they know what their characters look like and there' s hundreds of gigabytes of [uncompressed] textures. Game designs are done. There is no more research to be done. It' s a matter of ' porting' to whatever [console]."
My question is. If is a matter of porting to whatever console. does this means the voices have been recorder for shenmue 3? What are the texture and modelling work means. Anb what is the game design?

Since that article was written SEGA' s plans for the series have changed. The information was correct at the time of writing, but the current situation regarding Shenmue 3 is unknown. I wouldn' t worry about it too much.

I am sure work done in 2005 for an unfinished game is surely outdated by now, expect the story. all the textures etc would have to be redone if it wants to even come close to todays standards I' m guessing. Too bad we will never see it untill Ea buy Sega. But then do you want Ryo walking around listening to ea trax on his ipod? ... yes

The game takes place in the 80' s so we don' t need to worry about EAtrax or ipods.

it means they did alot of the graphics works before the game was canned. meaning they just needed to create the world and the missions and they would have been done.

I did some modeling work once. It was for the Proud to be a Gay Jewish Cowboy magazine. It was... an experience.

oh this is good news. so the game is almost done. but why would they not release the game if is almost complete. that doesn' t make any sense. I realy want to play shenmue 3.

That' s old information Ishikawa. Any of the assets they had finished for Shenmue 3 would be Playstation 2/Xbox spec, or very early current gen spec. They' d be no good now.
