I know some ppl will try and object to this in every way possible but I' ll just put it here neways-

" Xbox is setting the stage to continue its trend of being the only video game system to experience console unit growth in 2004 in the United States. In February, according to recently released data****, Xbox console sales grew 2 percent year over year, while Playstation 2 declined 29 percent and GameCube declined 18 percent."

A whole 2% ?

Even with Playstation' s 29% loss, X Box has no chance of catching up (in this generation of consoles).

The GC numbers are a problem, but the PS2 ones aren' t. It' s been out for over a year longer than the other two, and with 100 million units in circulation already, how many more people could possibly buy one? LOL

Anyway, Nintendo is living off the GBA right now. The GC just isn' t doing it...and it ain' t doing it for me, either.

Capcom' s low budget GameCube games like P.N. 03 and Viewtiful Joe totally did it for me and so did Resident Evil Zero, Mr. Driller Land, Beach Spikers, a few shooters and F-Zero GX, but other than that the GameCube has been coasting for a while in the U.S.

Couldn' t have anything to do with the 2 year head start, now could it? Anyway, as some may have seen, the XBOX price drop could help these numbers. As for the explanation- the GC doesn' t have that many huge games coming up, neither does the PS2. So, my logic for this is simple- Halo2, Fable, DOOMIII, and Half-Life 2.

The head-start obviously was a big help but the PS2 still sold more systems even if you don' t include all the systems sold up until the release of X Box. If they where both released at the same time though, the numbers would be different but I still think the PS2 would be ahead of the pack (because of the original Playstation' s huge following).

BTW, the PS2 does have some really big games coming up, Gran Turismo 4, Metal Gear Solid 3, Killzone, GTA: San Adreas, just to name a few.
