WHY!? Are they dumb, everyone else is leaning towards BluRay and they just had to go against the grain. They' re such assholes.

It looks like BluRay won' t get Transformers or Shrek 3. Damn, I really wanted Transformers in HD. I was going to buy a PS3 for it' s BluRay capabilities but now...ah fuck it. I' ll still get a PS3, but I' ll get a get a BluRay/HD DVD rom drive for my PC too I guess. Transformers is going to be one expensive movie.

Or you could wait, Paramount got a big wad of cash to turn over to HdDvd, once that time period or whatever is over, they will end up back on bluray.

Anyways it shouldn' t be to big of an impact. Being that the majority of love is still on the Blu-Ray side of things. An impact yes, but only if other studios start following.

Who knows, who cares. People need to stop jumping the gun and trying to tell everyone who the winner is. We got many more years to go before it' s ever really conclusive.

Yay, I am a little HD DVD fan and this news make me happy. It means my 179€ I spend on the HD DVD drive won' t count as a waste, at least for another few years because now those two formats are almost on par when it comes to Hollywood support. I can see the tide changing a bit in HD DVD favour now, though I doubt they' ll get support from the other exclusive studios. They' ll just maybe manage to divide the market share 40/60 between them and BluRay, compared to aprox. 30/70 right now.

I hope that in the future we can just rip the content of HD-DVD' s and burn it on our own Blu-ray disks and vice versa.
Will that be possible? I mean I know there' s lots of security stuff nowadays but eventually people find a way right?

What I really want on Blu ray though is like a complete series of something [take 24] 3-4 seasons on one blu ray in standard def.

Why would you want a standard definition version of a high definition TV show?

well its not the fact I want high def, I am not buying the bluray just to see some pretty images, I buy it to watch the show. Becuase of blurays space it could holds seasons of standard def programming, sure it wouldnt be as good as the high def version but can you argue when your getting 3-4 seasons with dvd quailty?

Course people would expect blu ray to actomaticly have High def content.

Some good news to come out of all of this: Michael Bay is upset at Paramount' s decision to go HD-DVD only, so he refuses to make Transformers 2. They might actually get someone with at least a small amount of talent to direct it instead!!!! This is very good news! Too bad Michael Bay wasn' t disappointed enough to commit suicide, though.

Actually I thought The Rock wasn' t such a bad movie and it' s by Michael Bay. It' s over 10 years old by now, though.

I don' t even follow directors. All I know is that Transformers is a movie I want to own in HD.

These are tow huge giants who prob believe that there is no need to move to BluRay just yet.
Not much pple are jumping on Sony' s band wagon.
