Nintendo Wii Out of left field Update!
-

I hadn' t heard anything about it so when I saw my Wii glowing blue it intrigued me. The update was to allow for the ability to use a new channel called " Everybody Votes" where you are allowed to vote in polls. An interesting update, cool that they are actually coming up with new channel ideas, any thoughts on it?

Q&A channel? You guys don' t want Ocarina of Time do you? You guys REALLY don' t want Majora' s Mask do you? You guys REALLY REALLY don' t want Goemon' s Great Adventure right? (Okay, so the last one was from Fantasy Channel, screw me)

Maybe they will ask if they were complete dipsh!ts for losing Rare. Now I will never see a Goldeneye follow up, or Donkey Kong(god I loved that game).

How come things never come out from right field? Is left field really so much better?

How come things never come out from right field? Is left field really so much better? Because you always look to your right...so the left field really is a mystery. At least the majority of people look to the right field if facing a stadium directly.

I actually like this new channel, though I was severely dissapointed when I learned it only asked general opinion questions and not, " Do you think we should bring MarioKart to Wii first, or F-Zero?" type of polls. This is a nice distraction, but that' s it. On another topic, do you actually use/like the other channels? Do you check your weather or news regularly, or just when the mood hits (i.e. you' re bored)?

I check news regularly, weather not much, I got a window for that. I use the internet channel on occasion. Shop Channel as well, this poll one I use now everytime I boot up the system.

I' m wondering why they couldn' t be useful polls though. “What is the better Valentine’s Gift? Chocolate or Roses?†“Which century would you rather live in? The 19th or the 22nd?†No. just... no.

Yeah, I really wish they had implemented this channel in a useful way. They could have used it to directly poll their user base. ...weather not much, I got a window for that. Wait, you use your window to just look outside and see what the weather is? Pffft, backwards. Why use the window when the tv is right there and not nearly as bright as that abrasive nuclear sky-ball? I bet you use a sundial to tell the time, too, don' t you? Sooo reliant on the " outdoors." What do you do if you suddenly feel the need to know the tempurature of Antarctica, huh? Would you go to Antarctica and look out the window there? Backwards, technophobic philistine.

I thought the whole thing with watching the weather on TV/Internet was because you wanted a forecast of the future weather, not the present weather. I can' t predict the weather myself by looking out the window so I have great use of weather forecasts on TV/Internet. I haven' t watched the Wii weather, because I don' t own a Wii, so I don' t know if they do forecasts or just tell you the current weather.

They do have 5-day forecasts, just like your weather station. It' s even presented in the same format. If only your Mii could come on screen and point at it like a meteorologist, then it would be perfect!

Neo-Nazi Cyborg...damn sounded better in my head. I' m a technology nut, but seriously, I' ve always found anything dealing with weather to be stupid...since...you can just look outside :P
