Nokia Working on New Handheld Sandwich!

" The consumer will have to make a decision: does he wants a standalone gaming device with a limited browsing capability or a phone with an MP3 player, a camera and a bloody good games platform? I think consumers will be prepared to spend £300 on a phone that offers all those different things rather than £100 to £150 for a standalone games machine." I dont know about you, But I would be more prepared to spend that kind of money on a psp/ds lite. Hopefully they have learned a thing or two from all their mistakes, a taken a look at what makes the psp/ds a success. I just hope it dosent look anything like the n-gage or those smart phones [:' (] http://www.fragland.net/news.php?id=15083

I second your sentiment, I would rather see a PSP2 and buy that than a Phone/handheld/MP3/tea maker. Imagine your having a quick game of tekken or whatever and your boss calls you, what would you do?

I really like cell phones and I like the games on them. But I really don' t think a game phone can compete with real game systems like PSP or DS. Not if the price is high anyway. Imagine your having a quick game of tekken or whatever and your boss calls you, what would you do? most cell phones have multi-tasking and stuff so it would probably just pause the game when someone calls.

I only tend to play casual games on my phone when I' m say waiting for a bus or something. Never any other time. And nothing more complex than tetris or pong. And I doubt most phone users are looking for tekken on it either! I remember trying an ngage with tomb raider on it. Not only was it the fact that it was tomb raider, but it looked awful! The casual games market is huge, so if Nokia make a phone with a Live Arcade like service on it, and market it right, maybe people will buy into it..
