It' s pretty obvious that the 80GB PS3 will drop in price once the 60GB models are gobbled up (sometime before the end of the year). That' s when I' m picking mine up.

Look how long it took the 360. $500 for a blu ray player and high end console isn' t too much to ask for this early in the products lifespan. Especially when you consider it only costs $50 more than the xbox 360 elite in Canada. I would gladly pay $50 more for the elite to come with wireless, bluetooth, HD-DVD, and a lithium controller instead of Nickel Metal Hydride. Not to mention the obvious differences in build quality and noise levels.

It doesnt matter what you want, when its not affordable for families and when there are no great games to play on the console either.

Id say wait atleast 18 months more before considering the PS3, or untill MGS4 is released, if you have ot have that at release!

Telling people to wait almost 2 years for a console is stupid. Should I have said that to you when you thought about getting a 360? As far as I know you had one when I first joined this forum which was about 8 months after it' s release, when it had only a few good games. Add in the fact that a ps3 would cost at most $80 more than you payed for a 360 and you are being extremely hypocritical.

When the Xbox 360 launched it was the first chance for nextgen console gaming. There games werent all that brilliant at the time, but graphicaly they were beyond the previous gen.

As of right now, the PS3 isnt providing anything worth playing that you cant play on the 360, in addition to that the 360 has great games coming out right now, where as the PS3 has none (except those coming to the 360 as well)

Most non-gamers who buy electronics aren' t buying a PS3 for the games, they buy it for the ultra-cheap Blu-ray player or for the fact that it' s simply pretty f***ing cool. Something the 360 isn' t as it breaks and doesn' t have the same modern fashion aestethics as the PS3.
For non-gamers and casual gamers or mainstream the PlayStation brand is the coolest brand in electronics after Apple.
The Xbox brand and the Microsoft brand are geek brands with no coolness or aestethic appeal at all.

You had valid points untill you said this Vx. Ps3 is not a toaster. Its a very shiny toaster that plays bluray.

The only thing I like better on the PS3s looks is the sleek black paint.

How many people do you think like toast? And how many people have toasters at home? Exactly, it' s a familiar shape with familiar function so of course the PS3' s design is more appealing than the nerd-geek mini-PC design of the 360

I like toast, but Im pretty sure if I had more choices I would take that. Toast sucks compared to something like hashbrowns or pancakes. Perhaps Sony should have made the PS3 look like a pancake maker

First off, you can' t say things like " ps3 offers no games worth playing" and then go on to say " the 360 has great games coming out" . You either compare what' s coming out, or what is out, not one to the other.

So, I don' t want to make a console debate, but I don' t understand how you can just claim the ps3 has nothing coming out that would make it worth owning. Warhawk is a great multiplayer game, and exclusive at that. VF5 has been out for quite some time now, which for gamers of that genre is a must have. Motorstorm is the best offroad racing title out there atm. Unreal Tournament 3 is the best deathmatch FPS out there, and it' s ps3 exclusive for more than 6 months, which, by most 360 fans logic would make the 360 version that comes out " a lame port I played months ago" . LittleBigPlanet! looks like a great game, and will be free to DL for the beta. Haze shows promise as well. I' m sure that there is something I' m forgetting, but whatever.

So, while I will readily admit that the 360 has more games out, and coming out that I will play, and plan to play, it doesn' t mean that the ps3 has nothing to offer, and it certainly doesn' t mean that I' m going to ignore it.

Dagashi dont try to argue that the PS3 has better exclusives than the 360, you' ll just make yourself look stupid. It will have some great games but if (and that' s a big if) the PS3 overtakes the 360 in terms of exclusives, it won' t happen before 2009-2010.
