You NEED wheels for racing!
-

On my travels this afternoon i spotted this.... ...racing wheel for 360. Now, ive never actually owned a racing wheel before and so don' t know what to look for. I do however (thanks to Ferrari F355 on Dreamcast) love the drivers POV... PGR3 TDU ...and PGR3 and TDU are likely to be the only games that i play using it, unless ofcourse Toca 3 is released before Forza 2. Now, i say before Forza 2 because i' m going to buy Microsofts wireless rumble wheel that' s launching with it and since the Mad Catz one is less that the price of a new 360 game i figured i' d just buy it and get some practice in. What i need to know is whether it' s any good or whether there' s anything better.

Does it have tilt Functionality? But seriously, dont buy one just for two or so games, they cost one 1/6 of a ps3! come on, you got better things to spend your money on...

I' ll be getting a MS one, It was the thing that made me world class on SR on the Saturn! If you love driving games, (Burnout et al) as much or more as you do games like Halo, then get one mate. Dunno about the mad catz ones though, when I was a student working in Game I noticed they wernt that bad quality for the PS back in the day - how much are they going for and do they have force feedback rather than just rumble?

I like the official Microsoft 360 wheel: Notice the shift levers on the actual wheel (like a real race car). And, yes it' s wireless!

*Drools* I' ve never really kitted myself out for driving games, but with Forza on the horizon, and I heard something about it being 60fps. The Racing Wheel is mine!

Its ashame MS never allowed all force-feedback PC wheels and preps be compatible with 360, then again the official 360 wheels would sell very little i asume.. I wonder if PS3 will allow this? It' ll certainly be an advantage.

I' m hoping the Driving Force Pro (GT4 wheel) will work with PS3 (....even though I' m not planning on buying a PS3 any time soon! :P) The DFP is my current wheel of choice for PC and PS2 games. But I only ever use it for the more realistic racers. It' s a bit wasted on the arcade ones like NFS and Burnout etc imho. That MS wheel looks nice, but the lap solution isn' t great. The wheel just moves around too much. IGN Gear did an article on wheel mounts a while ago. Seems like a cumbersome but somewhat better solution to racing in the living room. http://uk.gear.ign.com/articles/714/714545p1.aspx Ps. Don' t get the MadCatz wheel Magik! They' ve got a reputation for poor quality, so you' ll probably get what you pay for.. :/ Pps. I' m definitely getting that Logi G25 Wheel! :P
