Three hacker teams unlock the PSP - Feb 27, 2007 23:45
Article from the bbc website
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/6397797.stm

Sony sells its PSP with built-in software, known as firmware, which controls how the console operates.

The firmware locks many of the PSP' s capabilities, preventing enthusiasts from writing their own programs, known as homebrew, and running them on the machine.

It also limits its ability to play some films which are not bought on special Sony PSP disks.

But last month three hacker teams - Noobz, Team C+D, and a group led by PSP hacker Dark Alex - co-ordinating their efforts over the internet, found a flaw in the most recently released version of the firmware - version 3.03.

For those of you who has PSP, I guess this is good news. Now homebrew games, applications and videos are now accessible.

Just when you first launch right? Because that' s a $5 game rental.

Awesome news, especailly in light of recent events. Somebody has offered me their PSP for a bit of cash, (significantly less than what EB was asking) so I took him up on his offer.

I' ll be chillin' with Portable Ops by Friday!!!

That' s all very well but when will they hack firmware version 3.11. I ask this question as my wonderfully fantastic fiance thought she would be nice and kind and upgrade the firmware to the latest version.......
