What do you think? Leave the developer, and comparisons to other games out of it.

As a stand-alone piece of work, how do you feel about it thusfar?

To me honestly, it looks fun. But I'm a fan of oblivion and only watched parts of the previous Fallouts...

Certainly as a standalone game it has plenty going for it. The presentation such as missions blending in seamlessly it nice, the visuals for the type of game it is are quite good. The camera looks much more managable and can appeal to different types of gamers. I like the V.A.T.s system. The animations do look a bit stiff still and the AI seems iffy but self managed enough.

Note; I havent been able to watch the last two videos yet so yeah...

I'm one who enjoyed the previous games and this one i don't care about reviews or anything like that. I would like to play it no matter what. I also enjoyed the Elder Scroll series so combining those two RPG elements is an interesting one.

The problem with elder scroll games is the complete lack of direction and crappy melee combat, the magic/bow styles of play are obviously afterthoughts so non-melee characters aren't even playable to me in those games.
 
From those videos I can't tell if the game is going to have the same problem as elder scroll games, it does look nice and the character models are infinitely better than Oblivion's, but we'll have to wait and see.

The environments are bleh.  They look depressing and muddy, they're just fugly.  They totally missed the dark and gritty atmosphere by a long shot.

I might still get it because of the gameplay mechanics and humour if the mood strikes me.  I'm not terribly interested though.

That's the point.

I mean the graphics looks muddy, very sloppy.  On paper, I bet the sketches of the environments looked great but in 3D...fail.  Not a deal breaker though.

I really don't like games like Oblivion but this certainly looks interesting. I might actually buy this.

I think its looking good, but it does bring back the depression that is Oblivion. I'll wait to see the reviews. If it gets a lot of 9's I'll probably pick it up the first couple of days, if not I'll just wait a while. I think they should've picked an earlier release date, Fable 2 Oct. 22, Fallout 3 Oct. 28(?), and Gears 2 Nov. 9.

The more i see the less its fallout, it looks like a mod for Oblivion.

a lot of websites have being doing hands-on previews recently - most appear to come away impressed.

Adam (if you are reading this!), will you be doing a preview anytime?

Looks pretty good... it still has the same problems that I'd mentioned before (e.g., the repeated instancing of the exact same burnt-out house)... but I don't think those matters are dealbreakers.  I just hope there's some room for improvisation.  I'd like to be able to doublecross Mr. Burke somehow, for example.
