1up did a feature asking people around the game industry what single game they would choose to be with on a deserted island. Peter Moore chose Shenmue.

Why did you pick this game?
It consumed a large part of my life for a period of time, and I still look back and wonder why the game never quite resonated with the broader gamer.

Moore has good gaming taste,all hail shenmue.

I know we talk often like shenmue is some kind of godlike game,but truth to be told it was one of these games that really shocked the player and made you fall in love iwth gaming.

There has only been 5 games that done that to me.

1.Mario NES,I was stunned! I played and played like crazy.
2.Sonic on the mega drive,omg it was like mario on crack,loved the speed.
3.Starcraft here I had my time of my life on the pc.
4.FF7 the story and the gaeplay made me realise my new hobby is gaming.
5.Halo,seriously it made me love FPS,and YES I HAD PLAYED HALF LIFE BEFORE AND LOVED IT FFS!

So why isn' t shenmue here? well its awesome but it ends in a middle with no satisfaction it goes from 9/10 the whole shenmue+shenmue2 without having a proper ending so I can' t give the 10/10.

I would buy the elite 360 in an instant once Shenmue is announced on it. I' m sure that I' m not alone. There are many that would buy a new console just for this game.

Ummm, Peter Moore worked at Sega before he joined Microsoft.
As wikipedia says " At the time of leaving Moore was president and COO of SEGA of America."
Microsoft basically is Sega nowadays, while Sony has taken Nintendo' s old role as the cocky marketleader.
Nintendo is some kinda hippie company... idunno.

I read Moore got a Shenmue Tat to announce the xbox version? anyone got a pick of it? was it real like the Halo 2 one?

You' ll be missing out on some good games, then. Oh well. It' s good to see that Moore hasnt completely shut the door of Sega behind him and still mentions his past work/experiences at the company.

D' oh!

I never learned how to read dates in school. I should probably go back & pick up a remedial course sometime soon.

I' d buy a 360 again for Shenume if they made one that didn' t chronically brick.

I can' t help but wonder if Shenmue would have done better if they' d have given it some cheezy " dark and gritty" name like BloodRevenge: The Deathkiller Trilogy, or some such nonsense that appeals to the mouthbreathing masses. Present company excluded.

I would buy a new console for Shenmue 3 in a flash.
Altough it would take a lot of time if they decided to do it on PS3.

When Shenmue 3 comes I would like to see it on Wii. The Xbox isn' t the right place for Shenmue. Most Xbox owners just aren' t the type to like a game like Shemue. Nintendo fans would show much more love for the game. The QTE' s on the Wii would probably be awesome and as for the graphics I don' t really want them better. I liked how it looked on Dreamcast and they should keep it like that.

They should please all their loyal dogs and release it on the Dreamcast and give all from Shenmue Dojo and Kikizo a copy before it' s release for our patience.

Shenmue has to potential to be a system seller. Sadly enough the masses only like crap like FPS and the annoying GTA and all it' s clones.

I can' t think of any other game that I keep replaying and is constantly on my mind. Sadly enough increasing my frustration and sadness for not seeing Shenmue 3.

Now if you' ll excuse me I have to go and train to keep my mind as polished as a mirror and go air out some books
