April 16, 2008 - At Namco Bandai' s Editors Day event in San Francisco, Namco announced plans to bring the original Soulcalibur exclusively to the Xbox Live Arcade later this year. This makes 2008 a banner year for Soulcalibur fans on Xbox 360 as the latest entrant into the series, Soulcalibur IV, is set to release July 29.

The port of the classic fighting game will feature every character and mode that the original did as well as online leaderboards. Local multiplayer matches were tossed out as a selling point, but no mention was made of any new online modes and the game was not shown in any form.
