Definatley cool if it goes as planned. Publishers can still region-lock their games though, and most publishers don' t like the idea of region-free games because they can charge more in some territories than others. A lot of current 360 games are region free, so it' s not all that big really...  It does mean that if Europe DOES have to wait until 2007, the machines can still be imported... Didn' t Sony file lawsuits because of people importing PSP' s?!

Problem is that even if you buy US games, they' ll play in Japanese if you have a Japanese system. Terry is on his 4 hour trip home from work. So give him a little bit longer before he sees this thread. He may make Spaghettios first.

But if it launches in North America first, and in Europe months later, you could import a US machine and only have to worry about the power conversion?!

Well the PS2 had more Japan only games than Xbox And with the
current 360 sales there it will most likely stay that way.
Even with Japan dev making games they will probaly bring the
game to the west to make more money.
I wonder about region free backward compatability?

Ahh, damn near soiled myself indeed over this news.. I imagine that the movie playing feature will have regional lockouts so in the end I' ll more than likely still be picking up an American unit after getting a Japanese unit.
And Joe was dead-on, Spaghettios it was! Those FBI guys are GOOD!!!1!
