Oh yes. The HD-DVD Player isn' t even necessary for this. It all does it through software.

They won' t they said all games will be 720p but if you own a 1080p TV Xbox will upscale it' s output to match TV - it' s actually very nice.

Movies in 1080p are the main reason I suppose.

No, they said that if a developer gives native 1080p support to a game then 360 will output native 1080p. If not then it' ll be up-res' d from 720p to 1080p.

This is only really going to affect people with 1080p TV' s that have VGA inputs, or newer TV' s that support 1080p through component.

All 360 games support 720p, so if your TV is 1080p capable then it' ll up-res games to 1080p. You' ll also probably be amongst the first of us to play 360 games in 1080p!

Good stuf man good stuff. This is good cos I got the tv and a new vga cable for the 360 and was kinda disappointed that it has 1080p but the only things I would be watching is bbc-hd or something like it so. Also I wanna see the difference between 1080p doa4 and 1080i thats my main thing because I was surprised by the difference between 1080i and 720p. Damn so many things I need to do before games like gears come I wanted to get new speakers, change the tv hope ms gets some new colours on the market.

What 1080i?! You can do that right now. However, in the dashboard you' ll only be able to select the resolutions that your cable supports and if there are resolutions that your TV doesn' t support you' ll just get a black picture for a few seconds as it tests the resolution.

I' m not so much excited in the 1080p facet so much as the fact that DVD' s will be upscaled to at least 1080i for my TV!!! Hooray!!
