PSP or DS -- which would it be? Price is not an option. Currently I' m leaning heavily towards the PSP. What about you?

No question in my mind I would snatch up a PSP without even blinking. I may love Nintendo 1001 times more than Sony but t3h PSP is TOO sexy a piece of machinery.

I was hoping Nintendo could atleast maintain some dignity by keeping the hand-held market, but I doubt that will happen. The DS looks like another N-Gage in the making to me. PSP. It will have Square-Enix and Rockstar support.

Square Enix are also supporting the Nintendo DS. A version of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles has already been announced for the system. Anyhow I see Sony (and Nintendo to a lesser extent with the DS) struggling to shift many PSP' s due to the cost of the system. A handheld will not sell for more than £100 no matter how good it is. Plus games for handhelds don' t sell that well which means Sony won' t be able to sell the console at a loss like they have done at times with the Playstation safe in the knowledge that they' ll make up the shortfall in royalties from software sales. I honestly see the GBA SP outselling both these consoles for a long time after their launch.

I know Square-Enix is supporting the DS, but they will most likely give more support to the PSP due to their close ties with Sony.

If you' d have asked me that question before E3, I would have had to go with the PSP, simply because at the time, the DS was looking like it was possesed by the same spirit of foolishness as the Virtual Boy. Now that I see what they have in mind with it, though, I must say that I am quite impressed with it, and may very well support it over the PSP. I do recall hearing, though, that the DS is not the sucessor to the GBA, and that they have another handheld in the works.

I' m not really into handheld gaming, so I don' t really have a preference. I' m pretty happy with the GBA and all the classic re-released NES games, though. I have to pick those up.

I' m not getting either one, but if I had to pick one and money was not an issue then I' d definitely have to choose the PSP. Everything about that DS looks and seems like a failure waiting to happen. I could be wrong, though, I didn' t think Xbox would be as big as it has become.

I' ve never been much for handhelds either, but I would definately pick the PSP. It' ll probably be the first handheld I' ll ever buy. I mean come on, it plays movies and games! Not to mention the games that will be on it have graphix that look like PS2. That' s very impressive for a handheld. I' ve looked at the DS, and as much as I admire nintendo, I do think this is where they start to slip in the handheld market. Their DS will sell well, as nintendo fans are loyal, but in the long run Sony will be the one making money....once again
