10 million is nothing if you consider that this game will earn 200 million+ $ in sales on it' s first day. Compared to movies, that have a advertising budget of 100 million and more, this is nothing.

Like they needed to advertise for it. Everyone with a 360 is going to buy it regardless.

Also, everyone with an Xbox and a copy of Halo 2 is going to buy it... Just
remember all those gamers that still play Halo 2.... There' s at least 2 million out
there.... I think. That' s a rough guesstimate, don' t quote me on that.

Let see they already got 1million+ pre-ordered in the US...now just pretending that everyone only bought the basic edition (yeah right) thats 60 million right there.

Minus package production costs, development costs, shipping and the profit the stores got to have.
It' s not like the whole price you pay for a title ends up being pure profit for the developer or publisher alone.

Obviously, tho Im pretty sure they got more then enough just from pre-orders to comfortably throw money around now.

Everyone knows Halo 3, this game doesn' t really more ads.

They could waste this money on other titles, hope they do something like this
for Shenmue 3.

The $10 million is just for these television adverts, not the games whole marketing budget. That will be a shitload more. Before these ads they did the awesome CG trailer for ESPN' s Monday Night Football, a series of video documentaries, the E32007 Live Action ' Arms Race' and the amazing Live Action ' Combat' trailer

The thing about the live action trailers though is that they' ll serve a dual purpose. Not only will they be used to promote the game but they' ll be used to promote the currently on hold feature film. It' s no co-incidence that the guy who directed them is the guy who was chosen to direct the movie.

Heh, Lost Planet' s marketing budget was $20 million and Halo 3' s will dwarf that.
