im playing the demo the PSUnderground send me and i belive the game is great the way it is, on consoles, they will screw the series up if they just port the gameplay into the PSP, i would rather have a new Syphon Filter or a true Jak and daxter.

Just one more reason for me NOT to get a PSP. I hated God of War 1... it was so overblown and definitely overrated. But if it is ultra violent, people love it.

I just took note of it because the graphics in GoW were amazing to me for a PS2. And it had a very nice opening sequence. Personally, I prefer the Prince of Persia series for action adventure. And for repetitive enemy killing and combo counting, I have Otogi lol.

Finally confirmed. Ready at Dawn (who did Daxter) have been working on it and Cory Barlog is directing it. Some quotes from the linked article: " It is its own story that connects to the overall story. God of War, God of War 2, and then if all the stars align God of War 3 will be the telling of a trilogy. This PSP story will be a further fleshing out." " It is epic. It is big. There are hooks in the PSP story that I actually wrote from one of my first stories for God of War 2, so there are a lot of elements -- we' re going to keep connecting all this stuff. To me, it' s a persistent world... I want the PSP version to not feel like the PSP version... it' s just as big. It' s just as epic. It' s God of War." " We' re not reusing any levels. We' re not doing any of that stuff. It' s all original content. And the game will ship with a second analog nub -- totally kidding! Not true at all!" LINK

Gears of War wasn' t on the PS2... duuuuhhhh!!!! (Sorry Byakko, it was there, had to take it.) If " Ready at Dawn" is doing it, then I have the utmost faith in the game. I managed to miss the first God of War, not for any good reason though. MGS3:Subsistence came out the week I started, & my attention got diverted.
