I never really thought this game was gonna be made.  A part of me always hoped though.  Too bad 3D realms dicked around for 12 years.  If I was the publishing company I wouldn't keep giving them money either.

I was never a big Duke Nukem fan first time round, so DNF wasn't exactly dominating my horizons. Still, shame to see the developer go under. Hope all those affected find more work quickly.

In other news, we finally have some fresh reviews! Of games that came out a month or two ago!! That you people didn't really give a shit about in the first place!!! Happy days!!!!

Duke Nukem Forever was completed self-funded by 3D Realms. They never took or asked for a cent from Take Two.

It looks like Take Two will retain the IP... which means that the game may very well still see release in some form or another. They just need to give it to a competent studio. If i were making decisions at Take Two with regard to what to do with it... i'd probably auction it off. With any luck somebody like Epic would pick it up. Imagine DNF running on UE3.5/4 with a kickass art style and Epics' bravado.

That would pwn too hard. But I just don't see Epic picking up any IP's, they are too good at making their own.

Its not a shame, its called capitalism. If you cant get your game made in 12 years, and in the meantime youre pumping out low selling mediocre garbage youre going to go under. For once I would like to see an incompetent company have to pay for their incompetence.

I'm sure we can all marvel at the vast and unstoppable onset of the post-modern economic system whilst feeling some sort of compassion for those crushed under its wheels :)

Anyway, 3D Realms published the Max Payne games and Prey, which aren't too shabby in my book.
