I' m looking to get an art program to use on the computer. What' s the best. I want something for scanning artwork and coloring, not necessarily photo manipulation. I' m on a pc. That is all...

Um, use whatever software came with your scanner to scan. Use photoshop for editing.

Corel' s Painter and Pain Shop Pro are great if you' re using a tablet. OpenCanvas is pretty good too.

Adobe CS3 is very good. Use Illustrator to draw.

I use Open Canvas for sketching and doodles on occasion but my primary program is Photoshop CS3.

I use Photoshop. A friend of mine recommended Sketch Pad Pro for realistic painting and brushwork techniques with a Wacom tablet, but I haven' t gotten around to trying it.

Paint Shop Pro seems like the best option if it is just for scanning and drawing, even CorelPainter. But Adoble Photoshop can do more for any entry level and the experts. All and all every one mentioned excellent programs, compare prices and decide.

I use Adobe Fireworks, but still don' t know enough about it yet to ever recommend it. I do like it a lot though, it' s easy to use.
