That is awesome. How old is that gig? And how could they see in those cool looking sunglasses?

Music = cool. Band members = a tad unenergetic. Japanese men with sunglasses and facial hair = teh funny. I' m glad the version of " Final Take Off" they played was from After Burner 2 and not the wimpier version from the first game. After Burner 2 is a full-fledged sequel to After Burner 1. The After Burner music sounded quite similar to the Sega CD version of G-Loc... err I mean After Burner III. Sting Saito is a great bass player, I now understand his fascination with funky bass lines in games he has composed. Who was the other guitar player? He is not credited. He had a cowboy hat. Maybe John Wayne Asian Version? I could have done without the game clips and other graphics spliced in. Oh, and it DOES exist... on VHS in Japan (which will work with our VHS VCRs, but not those in the UK).

That is craaaaazy. They were tearing it up, the crowd was chunking down nonstop. I have never imagined such a thing occurring. That must have been such a fun time to work at Sega.

So, how did these guys compose the soundtracks... by jamming as a live band, and writing the songs that way, and then translating that into whatever MIDI interface they had back then?
