I always believed that if Nintendo had the same low standard for build quality as Sony they would sell more consoles.

i knew how nintendo;s consles comeout quality to others like playstation becuz u back alittle bit n see how 64 was much more far best quality than playstation so i wasn' t suprise to see gamecude better of all.keep on nintendo.

This isn' t suprising. I salvaged my second SNES from my neighbours backyard. It had sat in the heat and rain for 3 months prior and still works!

Though I can understand the Gamecube being able to take a beating, being a console aimed for children and all... What child doesn' t climb up a ladder and throw a console to the ground, or bring out papas hammer and give it a good beating?

Who the hell treats their consoles like that? That' s not quality testing, that' s stupidity testing.

When techTV existed, they did this very thing, and it was the same results.
The cube won because it' s main board is tiny and well guarded, followed by the xbox..
And the ps2 suffered.

It' s only forum flooding if somebody cares. Man those are Sexy! my brother got a Lite for his birthday yesterday, so I' ve been glued to it like the mooch I am.

But back on topic, it really doesn' t suprise me. I have seen awful things happen to Gamecubes before. I was there when one got pushed out of a second story window, while a friend of mine was moving in a new monitor. It fell on his bushes, and slanted off onto his porch. And It Survived! Nintendo makes reliable equipment. Not to mention, gameboys are just as tough. My brother passed his GBC through the wash twice when he was younger, and it still played fine.

Smelled like fabric softener though.

if we are being picky the xbox was blatently the most stupid-proof console there, and well we all guessed it that the PS2 would die first!

The xbox had a load more under the hood, and bits were flying off the gamecube from the start, plus my money says that a showing boot up doesnt count for jack... so the chances of any of them playing games were pretty poor.

If only advertising was allowed to be cheeky like back in the old days when sega would mention nintendo in their ads etc...

to have a manufacturer come on screen and show the weakness of a competitor would make things really interesting!

That was lame. Complete bullshit too (note that the last Gamecube start-up is incorrect and ask yourself why none of the console' s lights come on.
